Adar is kawaii in private for lovers of the right personalities!

I coined (#i support kawaii adar) for a reason!

Of course that's just my hc. But here is why I will die on that hill! That doesn't mean everyone else is wrong! I believe all headcanons are valid 🌈🖤

We see him have hidden softness in multiple shots. These shots are somber, private, intimate, and painful. ⬇️

To me Adar is stundere (cold /violent on the outside and sweet/vulnerable on the inside) not necessarily by choice but out of necessity in my opinion. This is a man who has endured torture beyond what most can imagine. He has had to protect himself and his loved ones with a thick violent shell. That is a way of life that he had no choice but to embrace.

I cannot see him with a lover who is rough given the trauma he has faced. He in my hc needs someone who can help him be soft in order to heal from the pain. There is no way he doesn't suffer physical and mental effects of extreme PTSD episodes. Softness can potentially make people with those disorders feel safe enough to exist.

With that said I hc Adar be kawaii when he feels safe with someone he can trust. If given the chance to heal with effort I hc him to be extremely sensitive, empathetic and affectionate as a lover. This side is solely saved for those he loves most in a romantic sense. Those are people who provide safety to help him feel secure with the softest most vulnerable part of himself.

Not all kawaii aesthetics and lifestyles are created the same though! To me Adar is a cute lil goth! He is huffy, has a tinsy bit of an attitude, feisty, can be playful (when in the right mood) but ultimately will give in to his lover's wants just to make them smile. He is very kitten like in nature! That's the brand of kawaii that I hc him to be! Being kawaii soft is therapeutic and helps him heal from trauma!

So I do not ship him with women. I've even RPed in games where Adar is trans masculine with other male characters (still gay!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️). I also love cracked ships and rare pairs too!

I am open to playing him in just about any LGBTQIA+ situation! I'm stupidly flexible because I feel like Adar as a character is extremely versatile! So I'm breaking this down into categories. I'll even tell you what I've daydreamed about, written, and roleplayed!

Ok so I love them both obviously. But I am partial to Joseph's version the most. His performance is raw and oozing with strong emotions. I felt his pain each time he was on screen. I could feel for him despite the violence. He made me believe the violence was a response to the need for survival and a way to attain basic needs for his children he loved so much. Right and wrong weren't really a concern for him, being a parent that would do anything to protect the children was priority. Not that Sam's Adar wasn't like that either (he was). I just really felt it through Joseph's straight to my heart 🌈🖤😭

Day 6- What made me fall for Adar

Hi this is Strawberry-Cow leader and founder of the Sad Tired Dad Society, otherwise known as STDS.

Today I would like to talk about exhibit A⬇️

See I have an archetype! And he checks off all the boxes.

In order for a character to capture my heart they must...

✅ Be parental, parental coded, have kids adopted or by blood.

✅ Live through a traumatic event(s) that alter them in some way leaving them tortured physically, mentally, or both.

✅ Bouncing off the point above such trauma must lead them to live the tsundere life. Ie: A tsundere is a character archetype that is cold, aloof, and vicious on the outside but extremely vulnerable and warm on the inside. This sweetness is likely shown in private, safe places.

Note: We see Adar's love for his children a lot in various ways and he has the potential to be very loving in my opinion. I hc him to be quite affectionate and vulnerable in private provided he is with the right person.

✅ Coded as a single parent or is a single parent.

✅ Be tired and done with life to some degree.

✅ Be alt in some way.

✅ Be shippable with a plethora of characters. I go for the gay (I cannot do hetero ships but that's just me) 🌈🖤 Adar is very bi/pan coded in my opinion. And that makes it better!

Adar by default is my ideal character. I was destined to obsess over him. There literally was no other option for me. I was doomed from the start!

Ok so they might not be cannon but @plotdesigner has made me adore their trop uruk ocs! I'm not gonna get into that bit because it's not my place to mention too much about characters that aren't mine. But Plot shout out to you😭 I absolutely love them 🌈🖤 I also loved the bb (legit kindergarten age) uruk OC @withallthatisleftofmyheart gave Adar in a modern AU! Loved that sweet-pea, so shout out to you too! You both got all the RP skills 💯💯💯

And as for me I kinda feel like I need to make some Uruk OC's. This I feel like this needs to happen!!! It has to 😤

This bro is also a wife guy! Love that for him! And I'm pretty sure he could be considered a sad tired dad.

He checks off a few of my boxes... (Though I imagine most of not all of Adar's cannon children are sad and tired)

Day 11- Origin headcanon

I don't really have too much of a set in stone headcanon for his origin. It really depends on the story of the Roleplay I have him in.

Also in the case of his roleplay character blog @adarssuggestionbox I have his origin a tiny bit of a mystery too. In that story I focus mostly on backstory. He had 2 husbands and their home was broken into in the middle of the night and they were going to be kidnapped. However his OC husbands were killed in front of him because they struggled too much. They also ran a jointed business so they were very wealthy bunch. One husband was a baker, the other was a florist. Adar had a bee farm that grazed his 2nd husband's large flower garden that he used to get fresh cut flowers from. The honey was sold in his first husbands bakery.

I also for some reason love the idea of him having strong ties to bees and that he was a master at the art of bee keeping as an elf. Best honey in the land! Not only did it taste excellent, it also had high grade magical healing properties. My Adar is just that good with the bees.

Though all of this is headcanon backstory. Does this count?????

But I do like keeping it vague because that leaves a lot of options for storytelling flexibility especially if his origin will be plot related

Day 16: A scene/interaction I wish we would have gotten

I truly wish we would have gotten a scene with him and Celebrimbor! Anything! Even if it would have ended badly (which is very likely?). But the shipper in me is like "NO LET THEM WORK TOGETHER TO TAKE ANNATAR DOWN! THEN THEY CAN KISS IT OUT!!!" (No hate to those who like Sauron. I'm personally not a fan of him.)

However, he did have that turn with Galadriel by the end. So maybe he would with Celebrimbor too? Especially since Brimby was against Sauron's evil demands and held captive. Maybe some really good things could have come from that? Butttt! We all know that Celebrimbor had a doomed fate because of his book cannon narrative sooooo... That's probably why we never got to see them sharing a space. BUT I CAN HAVE NICE THINGS THROUGH FAN FICS AND RP.😆😆😆

Day 15: How would I describe Adar with 3 words?

Triggered: To me Adar is a person who lives his life through undiagnosed PTSD. A lot of his cannon behavior reflects that in my opinion. 1) When he kicks a guy to the ground at the mere mention of being called Sauron. 2) When he is chained up before Pompeii happened at his house looking depressed and traumatized. I cannon chains being a trigger for him. 3) Violent outbursts in response to other people and their behavior. 4) This guy launched an entire army on Eregion just because his ex abuser was there! That is very triggered. My list could go on. ADAR GET THERAPY! 😅 Too bad that wasn't an option for him.

Leader: He is a very devoted leader and puts his children first. That takes a variety of skills, compassion, independence, intelligence and a healthy level of pride to do so in a way that is proper. That doesn't mean Adar is perfect, he's far from that (Eregion was definitely him diving off the deep end imo). But he does do his best for all who he cares deeply for.

Determined: We have seen Adar fight ferociously to get his children what they need! Be it at the expense of others, but that became a way of life for him because of the kill or be killed environment he had to endure for centuries. That forced lifestyle made him extremely resilient, fierce, and willing to go to lengths most people are squeemish about in order to better lives of him and his children regulardless of moral obligations. There are plenty of things I think Adar regrets doing and feels horrible for doing. But, he also felt as if it was the only way to fulfill basic needs.
