WALTONSTEIN WEEK IS UPON US!
aaaaand the mod has already proven the low-stakes and flexible nature of their own event by waiting until the second day to post about it :-)
To kick things off and celebrate the first day’s prompts (“Genesis” and “Vessel”) I’m taking the opportunity to reintroduce my first ever waltonstein fic, folie à deux!

I am still very fond of it, and I think it really encapsulates a lot of what I find compelling about their dynamic - a sense of starry-eyed, almost overbearing duty coupled with futile yearning, and the unease of having to cling to the only person that can understand you in a place of ambient hostility while knowing you won't survive it.
This fic really helped me realise how much I adored these two and their ambiguously requited doomed narrative foil potential and I hope you enjoy it if you decide to check it out <3 and I encourage you to repost any older relevant work for this event - creating new things is fun and rewarding but sometimes revisiting older pieces you're still proud of is just as rewarding.
