I swore that Adashi Week didn't start until August 11th TT
Adam found it tedious (to say the least) to do annual training at the Galaxy Garrison's US headquarters This was his first evaluation after graduation, and if it hadn't been fully paid for with accommodation included, He probably would have organized the takeover of his country's rectorship.
It wasn't his first trip out of the country, but he figured halfway across the desert wasn't exactly his goal target. Not for someone from a tropical area.
The heat outside the central building was not something Adam would subject himself to more than necessary, so he only wandered around in air-conditioned buildings.
The budget for being a headquarters was evident; the buildings, the equipment. Talking to a local communications officer, he learned that they even sent simulators to local schools.
The first week consisted of short orientation talks, so he had more than half a day to wander around with his official (foreign) ID, looking at the classrooms, laboratories, and library without any interruption. He would take note of what to demand upon returning at the end of the month of training.
until a wall interrupted his thoughts, but when he was caught before falling he realized that he had bumped into someone.
Adam hadn't expected to be so lost that he'd bump into someone, and even less did he expect to bump into the golden boy of the last years since the Galaxy Garrison's Calypso mission.
He attributed the flutter in his stomach to the nervousness of bumping into someone in such a cliché way, and not to the hand that was (still) holding him by the waist.
And he would also assume that the color in Takashi Shirogane's face was due to the annoyance of someone interrupting whatever task he had in progress.
There was no time to exchange a word. The academic who had given him the first orientation talks called "Shiro" from the hallway from which the aforementioned had come out.
Adam would mock his opponent for running away and almost crashing because he turned around to look at him.
The key is in "would" because Adam didn't move from the spot, staring at the corner where Shiro had disappeared for a time.
The message from his crewmates saying they were going to the town bar made him react.
The remaining three weeks would feel really long; perhaps he should just accept this option.
I suspect that as I get older I like the theme of soulmates found after a certain time and not from teenage's days.
Creating a backstory for each of my fanarts is my favorite thing, I wish I could finish a fanfic with one of them lmao
