Ten groups of six black spinel beads separated by alternating blood stones and black lava beads. The “antiphon” includes one garnet bead with a hagstone.
Bloodstones have been used by folk healers to stop women in labor from hemorrhaging, and to speed up the healing of wounds. Virility and vigor when worn in battle, a stone of life.
Cunningfolk, curanderos, folk healers, hexxenmeisters. Each culture has their own branch of folk tradition usually including, in some shape, the application of oils and salves to the afflicted. The lava beads are natural diffusers of these treatments for those that wear them, or those who lay them on others.
Finally, the hagstone or adders stone have been used by our ancestors as powerful talismans. Banishing spirits and stopping disease, preventing nightmares and protecting travelers, even used to see into other realms.
All of these are a part of the history of witches and healers. The natural elements carefully tended and directed to affect our surroundings.
