Kate has been resisting eating human hearts with yoga and meditation and eating animal hearts instead, kind of like methadone.
Dean has not yet come to terms with having an addiction of his own. They talk about it over coffee at a diner, kind of like a sponsor meeting
Kate overcame her addiction so she thought her sister would be able to, too Sam has gotten over his blood addiction. Now Dean is under the thrall of the mark and Kate’s sister doesn’t want help Yet every time Dean meets someone with a condition similar to his own he wants to kill them.
