The old cabinets get an update. I took some of the shelving I tore out of the house, and made face frames for the old, primitive cabinets. Traded the dated hardware for a lipped edge and low-profile hinges. They look great! The kitchen is primed and already feels way more open and inviting. The old colors and textures weren’t doing it for me (last picture). Those bricks are gonna be gloss white. Why did I go with all white? The floors in this house are 140-ish year old, wide-plank pine. They hold a large chunk of the soul of this place in every slightly wonky board. So I put everything else to work reflecting light onto them, instead of distracting from them like before. This room is clad with really rough dawn pine planks.
