INSPIRATION - It doesn’t come easily. I realised months ago I wasn’t being inspired by what was around me or what others were doing. You know what I mean? Everything was a bit, “oh, hum!” So I thought it was time to go in search for a little inspiration. Strangely, it has led me to booking airline flights to the Adelaide Fringe Festival (I’ve book to see 4 shows already) and World Pride in Sydney. As an added bonus, Mardi Gras has been moved forward this year (I didn’t know this at the time) and I’m accidentally in Sydney for it. It is funny how when you finally identify what’s missing in your day to day life (“inspiration” in case you forgot) the world suddenly opens up doors in an effort to help. Believe it or not, I happened to mention at a drunken Christmas party late 2022, I was thinking of heading to Adelaide and Sydney looking for inspiration and I was then given an email and a name of someone in Sydney, and now find myself in the Mardi Gras Parade (which I’ve seen a trillion times but never marched in) What then is the point I’m making? Well, my point is … We must always be on the lookout for inspiration and people that inspire us. And if we’re not feeling satisfied, we need to kick start a journey to bloody somewhere! Preferably towards the things you love (usually what you did as a kid or teenager 😊) Apart from all that stuff, sometimes you just need to stop and enjoy life …without all the small stuff! This is my first post. Its a photo I took yesterday (28/1) at The Garden of Unearthly Delights, part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival. ‘Mad March’ as we call it is in my opinion (and probably that of most Adelaidians except for those grumps who hate happiness) the best time to be in Adelaide. The Fringe is a wonderful mix of music, dance, comedy, art, food, relaxation, summer dresses, balmy weather, and wine. The people of Adelaide hang around in charming spaces with whimsical decor to drink wine. To see a $5 show. To try Turkish food. To see their friends perform stand-up. Just for the sake of it. And the best thing is, they do it on Tuesday evening as well.
