Anthony Rex shot the After Hours Cabaret Club’s takeover of The Octagon on Feb 23, 2018. This act just keeps evolving and I love it more every time I perform it. Tickets through FringeTIX

Bridgett Cains in Cirque Nocturne (via @bridgettcains) Watching the audience squirm in their seats and hide their eyes while I’m performing is one of my new most favourite things.
TBT: Review of Demi Lardner - Birds With Human Lips
A throwback to the 2015 Adelaide Fringe Festival and one of the stand out comedy shows.
Demi Lardner is the 2013 RAW Comedy winner and has debuted her show Birds with Human Lips at the Adelaide Fringe. Lardner is an energetic burst onto the comedy scene and delivers an intensely paced show. Her buzzing, hyperactive stage presence fills the intimate space of the Spare Room in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. She powers through the topics in a witty stream of information that maintains an ideal comedic timing. The quick nature of her show is calmed slightly by an assistant in an eagle mask and dressing gown, which adds surreal pauses to the stand-up and pieces the differing topics in the show together. Some pre-recorded audio and minimal lighting are snuck into the show neatly, including set up phone calls with her father. This adds a personal touch to the production with family stories coming through the audio. Lardner is a very skilled performer with a lot of original one-liners and stories loaded into the show. She presents herself as if in front of a much larger crowd whilst still making the audience feel close to her performance. A lot of noises from outside in the Garden of Unearthly Delights creep into the Spare Room, which Lardner effortlessly mingles into her own show. Each of the stories and acts are quickly rounded out with clever side comments that allow Lardner to dart between topics. She throws herself into each tale without losing herself or the speed of the show in any deeply personal content. Lardner’s show is a well-timed and inventive addition to the Fringe comedy circuit that features many fresh takes on well-loved comedy topics.
