Me, Adele and 2012 to 2016

Watching Adele at Glastonbury and being so proud of where she’s come from to where she is now, has also reminded me so much of the summer in between first and second year of university; when I worked full time as a cleaner, never had a weekend off, and used to listen to Adele’s 21 in the cafe where I had my lunch break every day because she was always on their sound system while I tried to read ahead my books for the coming year. I don’t think I say it often, and maybe it’s taken me a while to get used to it and accept it too, but I’m proud of where I’ve come from, and all the people I’ve been, each month, each year, before I became the person I am today. It’s been a long road, but if anything, I’m proud that I got out, and made something of myself. And I’m really happy for Adele, too. How things can change in five short years.
