Giant Rainbow Murals Inspired by the Secret Colors of Pigeon Feathers
Many birds are known for their fantastic plumage, while others remain underappreciated. Los Angeles-based artist Adele Renault uses city-dwelling pigeons as the muse for kaleidoscopic murals of detailed feathers. The ongoing series, called Gutter Paradise, decorates building façades across the globe with joyous colors and shapes.

94 Autumn St. off The Alameda in San Jose
Today we are continuing with our trip to San Jose to see the art created during Pow Wow San Jose and other local art we happened upon. __ All three pieces are one building by the Poor House Bistro on 94 Autumn St. off The Alameda and by the Guadalupe Parkway (68) __ These bird feathers are by Adele Renault and is just a portion of the art due to shadowing. West by Midwest Photography. __ She will be showing art this coming summer in a group show at First Amendment Gallery in San Francisco. __ Excerpt from her website: Adele Renault paints realistic portraits of pigeons and people. Her subject matter may live in the gutter or in an ivory tower and the size of her work ranges from small canvas to giant mural. __ Renault is fascinated by the inconspicuous beauty of every day objects and subjects. She observes closely those and that not considered worthy of a second look. She paints portraits of faces, the elderly, the homeless and pigeons in a realistic style. Her subjects are pictured as photographed, yet are then isolated from their context, enlarged and flooded in sunlight. She captures moments and expressions full of stories and meaning. Suddenly a scruffy pigeon and a woman in the last days of her life emanate a quiet grace and irresistible force of life. __ Vist her page http://www.adelerenault.com/
From small canvases to enormous walls, the works of Adele Renault often contain one of two things: pigeons or people. In vibrant, vivid detail, these beings are captured and isolated on every scale. See more on HiFructose.com.
