Be My Queen by the wonderfully talented @adenei is complete! 👑

I have read hundreds of ff in my life, of all kinds. Mostly Romione, some about Hinny.

Initially, I stayed away from AUs because it was unimaginable that my favorites lived outside their world. But as I grew older, I occasionally delved into AUs and slowly developed a liking for them, not in all universes, but in many. There are many that I consider my favorites.

To get back to the point:

No AU story, not even remotely, can compare to what “Be My Queen” has done to me. Not a single one, and believe me, many of them were absolutely brilliant

This story is everything.

I can’t put into words how meticulously crafted, thoughtful, and perfect the world of Fidesia is.

Fidesia. The epitome of creativity.

The details of the Fidesian world @adenei has so wonderfully created are incredible.

The characters we all know so well from the Wizarding World are perfectly pictured and twisted.

She plays with these characters and their feelings so insanely well that I caught myself wondering many times over the course of the story how somebody can be so good at writing.

Ron and Hermione are the masters of communication (not!) in this story and it’s almost unbearable how much they make life difficult for themselves for almost 37 chapters.

Moreover, there are a few very hot sex scenes (🔥) and some side plots that are truly amazing. Who would have thought that an Italian-speaking (well, cursing is more like it) Ron (omg, it did things to me) would be a reason itself to read this story.

It’s a wild ride, a very wild ride, but it is worth every single word. No story has ever engulfed me to the point where it kept me awake for hours, where I dreamed about it for nights or where I woke up in the middle of the night to think about it.

Don’t like AUs? You’ll love them afterward.

Not into royal stuff? You’ll love it afterward.

Find “friends with benefits secretly in love” cheesy? You’ll love it afterward.

Can’t stand slow burn, “it’s fun to make our lives hell”? You’ll love it afterward.

You have to read this story about Prince Ronald of Fidesia and the American commoner Hermione.

Buckle up, because now that it’s finished, you don’t even have to wait to see what happens next. You can just start and dedicate your entire day and night to it. It’s wonderfully well-spent time.

I promise you will not be disappointed. You will love every single word and every single second of being tortured to the point of not being able to stand it.

Never Saw You Coming (Never Be The Same)

Summary: Carried you back to the dorms 3 months ago because you were drunk and you accidentally professed your love to me and I fell for you. It’s 3AM in the dead of winter and someone pulled the fire alarm off because of their god-awful cooking and I’m being very vocal about how I’m gonna make her pay

Written mainly for my amusement. But then, the second part of the fic coincided with a @jilychallenge prompt, so… yeah. Thank you to @startanewdream and @majormaybe1 for helping me out with this fic a lot! And to @thequibblah for coming up with the title. She’s a title genius. You heard it first from me. Promises - Chapter 1

Celebrity AU | Prompt: Oh, my God, I’m puking my guts out at the Oscars, and what if I’m in the wrong bathroom? And oh, please, tell me my celebrity crush hasn’t just walked in on me with my head in this toilet bowl.

Summary: Lily and James are co-workers.

They talked, had lunch together and everything was going very well.

But when James invites Lily to a party and they end up having an affair, things get out of the way. Not exactly the next day, but three months later when Lily found out she was pregnant.

Sitting on the floor of her cold bathroom, Lily took a deep breath, laying her head back on the toilet seat, trying not to cry again at the thought of what was happening to her.

Yes, she wanted to be a mother, but not like this. From a man that she wasn’t even seeing. 24 years old and barely knowing how to take care of herself yet. What was she going to do? Now that her career had started and she had signed film and commercial contracts that she probably couldn't act anymore… Lily was lost.

Lily couldn't waste time crying. She had already stayed Thursday and Friday doing it. Her time had run out.

She needed to compose herself and go to the market, and then go to the studio to get her dress that probably no longer fit. Lily could see that her hips seemed to have expanded with frightening ease, as did her breasts, and then she would be back to the house and would clean up the mess she'd made yesterday when she'd noticed none of her pants fit anymore and she'd think about what she needed to do now that there was a life growing inside her.

On Sunday, tomorrow, she would need to be fine to make it to the Flamel Awards, the most important event in the wizarding world's cinema that she had finally been invited to! It was a unique opportunity and one Lily couldn't turn down, no matter how much makeup she would need to use to hide the dark circles under her eyes and the sick look she had gained now that she was throwing up everything she put in.

''Come on baby, be nice to mommy and let me get some rest.'' She spoke to her own belly that was already starting to get rounder, nothing very noticeable to those who didn't know her, but Lily needed to be discreet if she didn't want the seamstresses to notice her increased measurements. ''I promise I'll give you food later, just...let me rest.'' Lily sighed. Leaning against the toilet she tried to get up, body still limp after vomiting everything she ate, or tried, for the last few hours.

Lying in her warm, comfortable bed, Lily reminded herself that there was one more duty on her to-do list: telling James that he was going to be a father.

Summary: Accompanying her movie star best friend to the Oscars seemed like a great idea at the time, but when Lily wakes up the morning of feeling under the weather, she second-guesses her decision. But Mary shrugs her health worries off, insisting she'll be fine, and convinces Lily to go anyways. Everything seems fine until they run into Mary's co-star and hot, up-and-coming actor, James Potter, and Lily's stomach twists into knots again. Is it nerves from meeting her celebrity crush, or is Lily's upset stomach making a comeback?

What was I thinking?

Of all the stupid decisions her best friend had coerced her into over the years, this had to be the stupidest of them all. Lily would give anything to be sitting on the couch of her L.A. apartment, alternating between a bucket of popcorn and her favorite pint of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food, watching the Oscars in her comfiest pair of pajamas right now.

Film editors didn’t go to the Oscars! They stayed behind the scenes, and that’s where Lily preferred to be. But Mary MacDonald, Hollywood’s up-and-coming romantic comedy star and Lily’s best friend, had an extra ticket to the biggest awards show on American television, and Lily had stupidly said yes.

Sure, it was a good idea at the time. A day of pampering, picking out a designer gown, and strolling down the red carpet arm-in-arm with her best friend sounded like the most glamorous night. But then Lily woke the morning of the Oscars with a low-grade fever and chills. She called Mary, telling her she didn’t think it would be a good idea if she went, but Mary chalked it up to nerves.

“Lils, come on, you’re fine! It’s probably just nerves. I was nervous at my first awards show too. Granted, it wasn’t this big, but still. Just take some Tylenol and you’ll be fine.”

Lily had only seen men go pale once. She saw her dad nearly pass out when Petunia broke her arm and her bone was exposed, or when Lily made a plate of cake levitate across the kitchen. There was a time when her grandfather got that same white hue and wide eyes too, but that's when he knew that Lily was moving to the capital alone.

But that didn't change the fact that seeing James like that, with his brown eyes looking like they were about to pop out of his face, his fork lying on his plate and his mouth open, made her almost desperate.

"Say something," Lily asked, feeling a little uneasy at the silence. There weren't many people on the second floor of the bar, so the noise was only from people downstairs and in the street, which made her even more nervous.

"I…" James blinked, a confused smile creeping across his face. ‘’How long have you known?”

"Since Wednesday night."

He nodded, looking at her stomach for a few seconds.

"Pregnant...."

"I need you to close for me." She said, smiling at him in the mirror's reflection, trying not to blush as his eyes widened and looked her up and down, looking a little shocked. ''I hope I look beautiful." He moved closer, his warm, soft hands touching the base of her spine.

''Very, very beautiful.'' James muttered, bending down to kiss the back of her neck, making Lily feel her whole body shiver and respond to his touch, reaching for the support of his chest to keep herself upright, her hands tightening his own through the fabric, as his had slipped inside her dress and squeezed her hips. "Fuck, Evans, marry me."

"Stop being crazy, come on, zip up." She chuckled, eyes closed as she enjoyed his affection. James slid his hands even farther in, almost circling her waist, and pulled her closer, bringing her body temptingly close to his. ''James…''

"I've often dreamed of hearing you say my name like that again, I must say." He chuckled against the skin of her shoulder, then went back to kissing her skin. Her shoulder, behind her ear, her jaw, her neck. Lily felt like she could melt at any moment. "You drive me crazy, absolutely crazy."

All You Knead is Love - Chapter 6

Since tomorrow's the first day back with students, I'm celebrating by dropping a chapter early! Because let's be honest, Chapter 5 was rough without any Jily interactions right?

It’s surreal for her to think it’s been precisely one week since Mona called with her proposition. The last seven days have been a whirlwind of getting things ready to leave. At least she can rest easy knowing her rent is paid through April, and the utility companies were compliant with her request to put services on hold while she’s gone. Petunia even promised to check in on her flat once a week, despite being skeptical of Lily accepting Mona’s offer.

“I’m not saying I don’t like Mona and Howard, but doesn’t the timing seem suspicious to you? You lose your shop, she needs a new head chef, and she wants to learn from you?” Lily recalls the strenuous phone call to her sister a few days prior.

“I prefer to think of it as a happy coincidence, Tuney. Besides, what else am I supposed to do until the wedding season kicks back up in April? I have just as much of an opportunity to learn from Mona, and I’ve already accepted it. Can you please just be happy for me for once?”

Petunia begrudgingly agreed, but Lily knew she wasn’t happy in the slightest. Marlene, on the other hand, was ecstatic about the prospect.

“Lils, you’re going to London! This is so exciting! I know it’s not Paris, but you’re getting out of Ireland! You’re going to play in the big leagues! You’d be stupid not to go for it. Think she’ll give you the weekend of the expo off so you can come hang out and get free swag? Make sure you have business cards printed up. You know, to do some subtle advertising. You never know!”

Of course, now Marlene’s added excitement all makes sense, given that Mona’s already extended the invitation for Marls to join them and forgo staying at an expensive hotel in Kensington. It’ll be nice to have Marlene here in a couple of weeks, just in case Mona’s staff at the bakery aren’t as welcoming as Lily hopes.

Half an hour later, Lily has emptied all of her bags and gotten ready for bed in the spacious adjoining bathroom to her room. Unlike the peach hues of her bedroom, the walls on the loo are painted a gentle, sea-foam green, with undertones of a beach theme adorning the walls. Lily feels as though she’s in paradise as she grabs her book and gravitates toward the window seat.

She sits down, curling her legs into her chest as she looks out to the street below. A lamp post shines down a soft beam of light that catches a few snowflakes here and there against the night sky. It’s so quiet compared to the bustling city life she’s used to, with car horns honking at every hour of the night. Here, there is only the faint hum of occasional traffic from a few blocks away as the quiet suburb settles into sleep.

Lily turns to her book, intending to read a chapter or two before retiring to bed, and gets a fair way through when something catches her eye outside. Two figures come into view under the nearest street light, presumably going for a late-night stroll. One of the trees blocks Lily’s view, so she can’t get a good look at who she assumes is some of Mona’s neighbors, but it looks like two males.

Chapter 5: I'll be Home for Christmas

Jean’s smile grows wider with whatever new realization she’s made based on Hermione’s admission. “I should have trusted you’d find someone on your own.”

Her response causes Hermione to do a double-take. How does her admission of failed dates lead her mum to believe she’s found someone?

“What?” Hermione’s gobsmacked by her mum’s reaction.

How foolish was she to think Jean Granger might relent, leaving her daughter’s love life alone and stop her prying ways. Instead, she’s just trying another tactic to figure out what happened this weekend. But Hermione refuses to divulge the details about the man who almost stole her heart. Almost.
