But Why Purple Glitter Though?
Warnings: lots and lots of cursing, otherwise nothing really tbh, just a dumbass short little story written by moi at 3:26 in the fucking morning. I need to sleep but I’m doing this instead bless my poor exhausted heart, whatever. Enjoy? I guess, even though literally only one person is even gonna read this lol bless
“Fuck me, I have absolutely no idea what I’m fucking doing here,” she whispered angrily to the chuckling form beside her. “What the fuck are you laughing about, asshat?!? This isn’t funny, this was a horrible idea!!”
“Well, Azzie, I mean-” her friend’s explanation was cut short as an obviously fake cough loudly rose above her voice.
“I don’t know if you two shitheads are done fucking around, but I’d highly appreciate it if you could focus,” retorted Rose, a thin girl with long and disheveled sable hair that was hunched slightly in front of them. She lowered the binoculars she was looking through and turned around to face them both. “This is a very serious mission, and I can’t have you two fucking it up by talking.” She angrily gestured to the bush that all three of them were all currently hiding behind. “I don’t know if y’all were aware of this, but shrubs don’t normally talk.”
“Fuck you Rose,” Azzie spat angrily. “We should not be doing this, this was a stupid ass idea. I don’t know how you two spinach chins even managed to talk me into this, but I swear to god, I know where you live and I will smother both of you in your sleep.”
“Well goddam Azzie, I would say take a chill pill but I’m scared you’d choke considering you can’t even swallow your temper.” Azzie narrowed her eyes angrily at them as Rose snorted loudly and leaned past her to high five Mina, a girl with cropped pastel purple hair that always kind of looked like it had the consistency of cotton candy. Mina sighed loudly when she saw Azzie glaring at her and rolled her eyes before continuing. “Ok whatever, but you get my point, Az.”
“Yeah, you’ve been nonstop going on and on and on about your soulmate,” Rose laughed lightly before smiling and reaching forward to tuck a strand of Azzie’s hair behind her ear. “Look, sweetie, you know we love you immensely but we’re tired of seeing you go through shitty relationships when you know damn well your soulmate is within reach.” Rose smiled sweetly and then booped her nose.
“I wouldn’t say ‘in reach’,” she muttered as she brushed Rose’s hand away from her face and darted her eyes downward. Azzie sighed, then slowly looked back up. “Look, I know y’all mean well and I love you too, but I’m not 100% sure they even go to this university.”
Both Rose and Mina groaned simultaneously.
“I swear to all that is seemingly holy in this world, if you keep saying that to me, I don’t care how much I love you I’m going to wring your neck.”
Rose turned to look at Mina. “Good job on being supportive, Mina, 10 out of 10.” Rose clapped obnoxiously loud directly in front of Mina’s face until Mina grabbed her hands with her own and then proceeded to shove her to the side.
“Ignore her, she’s inconsequential,” Mina said before stopping abruptly and picking up the binoculars. “Wait, what are we doing? We should be looking for your soulmate right now!” Mina turned back around and stuck the binoculars into the bush. “I can’t see anything.” She deadpanned without turning around or moving to fix it. Azzie rolled her eyes and sighed loudly in exasperation.
“I appreciate you guys trying to help, but this is like the dumbest plan ever,” Azzie snorted when Rose turned to her with an offended expression. “I’m sorry but like, hiding behind a bush and seeing if anyone writes something on their hand and something shows up on mine like…” She trailed off before raising her eyebrow and making a “what the fuck” gesture towards Mina, who was literally half in the bush because she was leaning forward so much. Azzie was about to say something, but a tingling feeling on her right inner wrist halted her speech before it began. She couldn’t help the fond smile the spread across her face as letters began forming on her arm.
‘Sup, Gorgeous?
She smiled and chuckled softly before writing back a response on her left arm.
You don’t even know what I look like, you dork
Booooo, kill-jo. It doesn’t matter anyway, I know beauty when I hear it…well, read it lol :3
Istg you’re such a fucking dork, I don’t even know what to do with you
Well you could totally figure it out if we meet in person, hhhmmmmmmmmmm????? *vigorously nods*
Did you actually just fucking write ‘vigorously nods’? Wtf man. And I’ve told you before, I like, idk I’m so socially awkward and I’m so ugly like ew no why meet when we can live in a bubble? Why
“Um excuse me, EARTH TO AZZIE!!!!” Azzie flinched sharply when Mina yelled loudly in her ear while snapping in front of her face. “You look insane you know? Writing all the way up your forearm, you lovesick weirdo.”
“Sorry, I can’t help it, I, I just..” Azzie trailed off as she blushed and looked back down at her arm. “I mean, I guess I just-”
“Hey, um, sorry to bother you,” a voice called out in amusement from above them. “But what the fuck are you guys doing behind a bush?”
All three of them looked up to see a girl standing over them, one eyebrow raised in beguilement as her eyes scanned the group before landing on Azzie and smirking slightly. The girl had flaming geranium hair that fell onto her shoulder in curls, and her emerald eyes were sparkling as the corner of her mouth slowly twitched up into a smirk. She looked at Mina’s hand, which was hovering mid-snap in front of Azzie’s face, who was currently looking quite dumbstruck. “I’m assuming you’re Azzie?” She chuckled when Azzie nodded dumbly. “Well, I’m glad to see you’re back on Earth, I’ve heard re-entry can be tough.”
That seemed to snap the three of them out of their daze, and when Azzie didn’t respond, Rose rushed to. “Yes, yes, um, we thank you for your concern,” she said as she rubbed the back of her neck, and opened her mouth to continue before stopping abruptly. “Wait a fucking second, come here right now.” She lurched forward and latched on the girl’s arm, yanking her down. The stranger yelped in surprise before crashing to the ground next to Rose and half on top of Mina who grunted in protest before lightly pushing her off. Rose ignored both of them and hunched over the girl to examine her right arm, blocking her from view.
“What the actual fuck, Rose?!?!?” Mina growled in anger, and when Rose’s only response was to excitedly gesture towards the girl’s arm before leaning towards her and whispering in her ear, she became even more agitated. “Seriously Rose, did you just forget how to fucking interact like a normal-” Mina broke off and slowly grinned excitedly before hauling Rose up off the ground, helping the stranger up, and then turning to Azzie to address her. “Nevermind, doesn’t matter at fucking all, we have to go…. do something, somewhere, with someone, I’m sure.” Mina grinned very widely, Rose enthusiastically nodding her head beside her, and then they both walked quickly past her, giggling the entire time. Azzie turned around slightly to watch them go in bewilderment before freezing completely when she felt one arm wrap around her waist and another gently grab her wrist and turn her around. She found herself face to face with the girl, who was staring down at her arm with an expression of what could honestly only be described as fervent exuberance. Azzie looked down herself and her eyes widened when she saw the words “‘Sup, gorgeous?” written in purple glitter on the inside of the girl’s right wrist.
“But why purple glitter though? Has it been purple this whole time? It’s so weird to think of it written like that now,” Azzie said softly but quickly and in a nervous manner, cocking her head to the side. “I guess I always assumed you used black pen, except of course that one time-” She was cut off as the girl lifted her chin with a finger and softly pecked her lips before smiling lovingly at her and pulling away slightly.
“You’re fucking adorable,” She whispered as she quickly glanced up and down her body before giving her another short kiss, chuckling softly when Azzie blushed ferociously. “Oh my god you blush so easily I fucking love it, shit.” She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, then opened them, took a step back, and reached out her hand. “Hi, I’m Cal.”
Azzie glanced down and then back up repeatedly before slowly reaching up and shaking her hand, making eye contact.
“Azzie.”
