Someone on twitter said something about Adian Pitkeev being the start of Eteri’s system.

And I genuinely didn’t know him or his situation. I didn’t really get invested in russian skating until Zhenya and Alina.

And holy fucking shit, I don’t even know what to say?

She sent him out to skate on serious painkillers and he fell and fractured his spine?

For what? A medal? At the cost of his career, his health?

Why did they let her continue coaching after that?

Guess who was at Russian Nationals as an assistant coach! Adian Pitkeev!!! It’s been nearly four year since he last skated at Russian Nationals and now he’s a coach. He was part of Anastasia Tarakanova’s team - she skated poorly but Adian was magnificent. It was interesting to see him not too far from Eteri by the boards. Those two had a rocky relationship to say the least.

It’s still a shock to know he’s retired and he’s younger than Kolyada - the current national champion.

Anastasia Tarankanova has once again changed coaches - this time back to Ksenia Ivanova. Her coaching team will also include Adian Pitkeev and Alexey Karpushov.
