I've already mentioned her star necklace, and her scars and the story behind em, but I'll sum it up in a nutshell:
1. All her scars are either from her being a dumbass, or her hurting herself to get her parents attention.
2. 'Dad gives his daughter a necklace, with a locket carved from wood into the shape of a perfect star, almost a perfect star. All out of pity and to keep up his reputation.'
The other stuff are—
3. Korey's very used to wearing ripped, or in her parents words, "peasant clothing" because she was barely allowed inside the house
4. She cut her hair in a manic state multiple times, but somehow had enough luck to not damage it as much as it would be after all that.
5. While she's somewhat buff, she's also pretty thin because, again, was barely allowed inside the house for her to actually eat anything.
Korey was born in Aakhan in a lavish yet unloving home. Spending most of her life trying to get her parents attention. The Adiel parents were very neglectful and emotionally abusive, to purposefully triggering Korey's episodes to guilt tripping Esra for leaving.
Korey has two brothers. The oldest is Esra, at 25 years old. The youngest is Noah, at 14 years old. They all get along greatly and have a very strong bond.
-Esra has already cut off his parents by now, and he absolutely refuses to see them again. He has a job and a loving wife and kid. He's not about to let them ruin it. He's always cool, calm, and collected, it's very difficult to really get under his skin. He graduated Thessla, the magic academy for mages, affinities being mind and water.
-Noah is kind of like a golden child, but also not really? He gets treated decently by their parents, unlike how his older siblings were treated, and he is very aware of it. He's very anxious and quiet, but can be brave. He has some big potential to use magic, but until he leaves the Adiel household, it's staying hidden.
Achara Hathai, the mother. She comes from a very strict family with a lot of traditions and rules to follow. She's the 5th of 6 daughters, she barely got any care from her parents, only by the maids. She was married off the day she turned 18 years old to Haneul Adiel. She's cold hearted, cruel, and is more than willing to manipulate others for her own advantage. She's a follower of Leo.
Haneul Adiel, the father. This man came from a very spoiled and entitled home. Raised by "loving" parents, who never once taught him punishment. His parents were the ones who watched over the kids. He was married to 18 year old Achara when he was 24 years old. He isn't a caring man, but a sadistic one. He's the one who'd torture Korey and Esra the most. Despite his spoiled unskilled appearance, he's a very talented mage, his affinities being lightning and mind. He's a follower of Daz.
-Their marriage was a loveless one, only conceiving children to keep the family line going. They both have no respect for each other, getting into arguments almost every day.
Little more about them here.
Important backstory events.
I. At 3 years old, Korey was pushed fell and sustained a pretty hard hit to her head— but thankfully, was found by a munite, they called themselves "Amaal". She was quickly healed by them, but too late as the right fusiform gyrus (for those who don't know it's a fold in the brain that coordinates the neural system that controls facial perception and memory) had already been too damaged, developing prosopagnosia due to the head injury.
After the munite told her parents found out about this injury, they... didn't care. Which of course caused Amaal to be even more concerned, that they made up an excuse to keep Korey at the temple for a little longer, just to make sure she doesn't have any more injuries they don't know about.
From then on, Amaal would visit Korey and her brothers in disguise, making sure they were okay and still alive. Even giving Esra a few healing spells to practice, and teaching Korey to mentally note vocal mannerisms and physical build so she can be able to identify them without relying on facial features.
II. At 8 years old, Korey meets Jay. I wouldn't get into too much detail about their relationship here, since I already did it in a different post.
Jay's family is very, very close to the Adiels <- them and the Akeins have a long history together.
They were visiting the Adiels with his family before seeing Korey in the yard, playing by herself. So he approached her. And his obsession started a year later from there.
She actually did not like Jay at all when they were younger, but Korey was basically forced to be nice to him as kids by her parents, and it unfortunately grew into a habit that developed into whatever they have going on because it's definitely not a friendship.
More about Jay and Korey and some other important things here
III. At 9 years old, Korey of course still couldn't understand why she couldn't see her parents, and why they wouldn't look at her. So, she had tried to gouge out her eyes with a pair of scissors to give them to her parents so they'd use them to look at her. As in her mind at the time, they didn't have eyes to use, to see.
Don't worry though! Esra found her before she actually gouged out her eye. Though she can still see, some serious damage was done to her right eye, he tried to heal it with what spells Amaal taught him, but unfortunately made it worse since healing was not his speciality, like at all. He ended up using a different spell on accident, causing the blood to flow in it drastically faster, turning it red.
Like I said— she can still see, but in her right eye, it's all tinted red and it hurt like hell. When Amaal visited again, they tried to heal Korey's eye, but unfortunately the damage from Esra's spell was almost irreversible, all they can do is relieve the pain in it.
IV. At 12 years old, Korey accidentally killed two boys who were about 3 years older than her at the time. The boys were bullying and hitting her badly, saying some pretty fucked up stuff, it was until one of the boys reached for her clothes was when snapped. Punching the boy off of her, before starting to slam his head on a rock over and over.
The other boy, too scared to intervene, but before he could run away, she ended up throwing a pretty hefty rock at his head. Killing both of them, and severely mentally scarring her. Thankfully for Korey, the murder wasn't pointed at her, but a violent halfblood who was roaming the woods. But still, even to this day the guilt still eats her from the inside.
Korey only told Amaal about what she's done, and safe to say they were not happy. They put her on community service duty for the rest of the year, while a very lenient punishment to killing two kids, they understood it was in self defense...also she was 12—
V. At 14 years old, Jay was brutally killed by a violent tiger halfblood, getting their guts ripped out as Korey could only helplessly watch. After it was done with Jay, Korey was also attacked by it, slitting her neck with its claws. But thankfully, she was saved by a hunter nearby called...'Warren'. influencing her enough that she decided to join the hunters. But of course, she was still too young to join. So for now she can only train.
Oh boy, were her brothers and Amaal very worried when they found out what had happened to Korey and her "friend".
Amaal, as a way to get her to stop from getting into so many dangerous activities, suggested they become a Dazinite recruit. Her entire family are ones, excluding Esra and Achara. So, she did, and it worked quite well. She stopped getting into too many fights, but was still quite the menace– pretty fitting for a stormchaser. And Amaal didn't have to worry as much about Korey getting severely injured, so it's a win-win situation!
VI. At 16 years old, she was quite literally struck down by lightning. Out of pity, the divine of Weather, Daz. Helped and gifted her a bottle with thunder inside of it..catch is, it was in liquid state. Essentially making her a muse. So far, only Esra and Amaal know about this.
Esra was very worried at first, but he'll warm up to it, eventually. Amaal was a little proud? I mean, their daughter figure just got gifted by a divine. But they were a little concerned about the potential repercussions and consequences..oh and her getting hit by a damn lightning bolt.
Noah has some suspicions of Korey being.. different. But of course he trusts his siblings too much to let his suspicions get in the way of their bond.
VII. At 18 years old, Korey finally meets Cersei. She's old enough to go on hunts now, but of course the older authority figures need to make sure she's ready-ready. And that authority figure happened to be mistress Fain herself.
The conversation was... something. Definitely not a normal interaction you have with someone. Lady Fain seemed to have been a bit suspicious of her being different per-say. But in the end, she was surprisingly very thoughtful of her and others, or at least she acted like that.
Circei had that motherly affect on Korey, but it felt so wrong seeing her as one.
Facts about her
—Korey's the type of person that would stab you as a warning.
—she is so ADHD and Autism coded it's not even funny.
—has a scrapbook with all the bugs and boys drawn in it so she won't forget what they look like and she will actually start sobbing if she ever lost it.
—she can speak Thai, English, and a lil bit of Korean.
— her episodes can either be violent (mainly to herself) or emotional. Her coping mechanism is finding an abandoned building and destroying it by taking her anger out on the things there. There are rare occasions where she talks about her feelings instead of bottling it up for so long it turns into an episode.
—she can barely remember what her parents faces look like, of course Korey pretty much relied on the person's voice to know who's who, but since her parents barely ever spoke to her, it takes her a while to recognise them.
—her grandparents, while mostly nice, were really possessive of her and her siblings. Never approving of her actions and choices, preferring for her to be more feminine and hide her scars. Korey kinda developed body dysmorphia from this, it was especially bad when she was younger
—she kinda had a grudge against halfbloods since she was attacked by one, but it was really only towards the more apex predators type of halfbloods. It was kinda resolved when she met the boys, but can be a bit suspicious if not paranoid meeting other halfbloods.
Of course she doesn't agree with the whole enslaving thing, but does agree that some halfbloods are too dangerous to be left alone, that some need to be put on a watch list by the hunters from how violent they can be. But, never drugged, enslaved and forced to fight.
—has very mixed feelings about Cersei. She understands where she's coming from. Her town got burned down, her family killed, and ended up having a miscarriage after trying to escape. All of that caused by a dragon halfblood.
Korey is an advocate for revenge, don't get me wrong! But she does think that Cersei's ideology went a little too far.
—she is very oblivious to more emotional feelings and weirdly observant to her opponents reactions. she was often mistaken as apathetic or heartless by the village people.
—best way to cheer her up? Cinnamon rolls. Or bibimbap! It's her favourite dish! Her grandparents used to make it for her before passing away
—don't let her anywhere near the kitchen though. She can help cut up the vegetables, but actually cooking? Yeah the place is getting burned down.
Her sense of direction is even worse than her cooking.
—she's both exciting and worrying to be around. Exciting because there will never be a dull moment with all the adventures and quests she comes up with. Worrying because she's a thrill seeker and will most likely purposefully put herself in danger just for the adrenaline.
—she's annoyingly good at fighting with insanely fast reflexes. One could argue because she's a muse, or because she's put herself in so many dangerous situations she learned it from experience. But either way, thanks to her risky endeavours, she's very agile and fast,
—but! While very reckless and careless of her self preservation. She always makes sure the others are okay, especially when they seem exhausted after a day out together. She knows not everyone can keep up with her energy.

Relationships family wise
Esra Adiel—ISFJ-A
Relationship: 9/10
he's her older brother, of course she has a good relationship with him! Even when he ran away to go live happily with his wife, Diana. He'd still come back on the weekends to check up on her and Noah, bringing all sorts of trinkets for them. He was the one who first encouraged her to join the academy when she reached 18 years old and not become a hunter instead.. but he understood her choices.
She did kinda hold the fact that he left them to marry a girl he just met against him. But he's made it up to her and Noah!
Esra is very quiet, always looking for ways to gain more knowledge, and stopping at nothing to protect his family.
Noah Adiel—ESFJ-T
Relationship: 10/10
Just like with Esra~ she has a very good relationship with him! Was very saddened when she couldn't be there for him as much. But she tries to visit him as much as possible! Taking every opportunity to go check up on him. She'd occasionally take him on her silly little adventures, just to spend time with him.
Noah is quite the anxious kid, preferring to stay silent then speak up his thoughts. But is brave when the situation calls for it, especially if it's to protect his siblings.
Diana Clair—ISFJ-A
Relationship: 8/10 only because she doesn't know her a lot
She never got to see her a lot, but she treasures her dearly! Along with her daughter, Ayla! Especially since she's her brother's wife. Was wary of her at first, but warmed up quickly!
Miss Clair is a very kind woman, eager to help anyone in need. Even if she's mute, she's more than willing to defend others!
Jay Akein—ENTP-T
Relationship: 0/10
...yeah I'm not getting into this one.
Achara and Haneul—ENTJ-A/T
Relationship: 0/10
Also no.
Relationships canon characters wise, also before Timmy was taken
Bodie Willowroot.
Relationship: 9/10
She was very, very suspicious of him when they first met. But warmed up to him quite quickly. She first started considering trusting him at the end of episode 1...and fully trusted him at the end of episode 3.
The reason why she even told him the truth about why she came here was because the guilt was eating her alive. Especially after the third episode-
Thinks he's pretty cool, gator halfbloods are quite rare these days. She tries to help him with the cooking but stays at the cutting duty– it's for the best. Likes how understanding and caring he is, he's almost like a father figure to her.
He reminds her a lot of Amaal and Esra combined.
Timothy Wheat.
Relationship: 10/10
Wasn't that suspicious of him tbh, she just assumed since he was also a gator, he'd know and be close to Bodie, and she was right!
She thinks he's... unique. Was suspicious of the white scales constantly growing on him, but let it go after the albino excuse before finding out he was half an ice dragon— but either way she really likes him!
Thinks his little obsession with crystals and cool rocks is pretty cute, she likes shiny things too, so that's one thing they can bond over! They'll even sometimes go search for some pretty rocks and ingredients for Bodie together. Most likely teasing each other on the way, Korey is often the winner of these silly fights.
Honestly, she really only prefers his company over the others because he's closer to her age. And because she thinks he's pretty and cool.
Marco Palustris Cydarki.
Relationship: 7.5/10
Was pretty salty on the fact he almost crushed her when they first met– but the sketch he gave definitely made it up. She thinks he's also very unique, probably more than Timmy. Is very curious on where he keeps disappearing and travelling off to.
Definitely won her trust by the end of their first meeting. But, her trust did kinda get rocky when she saw him at the arena, but it was resolved after he explained himself.
She still doesn't have much of an opinion on him, but she likes him.
Rolden Willowroot bonus tehe
Relationship: 5(?)/10 cuz she barely knows the guy
Boy was she terrified—
Okay not terrified per say, just very intimidated by him. But she does think his appearance is pretty cool.
And..uh..she uh...likes his determination to get his family out? My way of saying she doesn't have much of an opinion on him
And I think that's all!~ will be updating this post as the series progresses.
Headers are by @saradika btw, full credit to them!
a rant about my gal for @aspenm00n to use as a ref ^_^
Korey 'Hathai' Adiel
Thai/Korean
19-20 years old
Height is 5'3
AFAB at birth but she's a Demigirl and Bisexual ^_^
She has Hypomania and Face blindness
Mbti is ENTP-A
chaos chaos chaos all throughout life
She was born to a pretty wealthy couple, problem was they were very, very neglective, forgetting about her existence even.
And from birth, girlie was already very energetic
She has 2 brothers, the older one is Esra at 24 y/o. and the younger is Noah at 14 y/o.
Now, Esra has already cut his parents off, and he absolutely refuses to see them again. He has a job, and a family now, and he's not about to let them ruin it.
Noah is kind of like a golden child, but he's actually aware of how his parents treated his older siblings. Planning to leave his home at his 15th birthday and go live with his brother.
Now with Korey is a little different. Her parents have only acknowledged her when they need to take her somewhere with them to keep up their reputation.
Desperate to make her parents notice her, she started putting herself in seriously dangerous situations at only 6 y/o, going as far as to try to gouge her eyes out with scissors to give them to her parents so they'd use them to look at her, she did that when she was 9.
Don't worry though, Esra found her before she actually gouged out her eyes.
The village people didn't really like Korey that much..
That didn't stop her from being even more reckless, however. From jumping off a cliff to almost drowning herself, safe to say she has a LOT of scars from her careless endeavors.
The only few scars she has that aren't from her purposefully putting herself in danger is one on her back, a huge claw like scar from when her and her friend Jay were attacked by a most likely drugged halfblood. Unfortunately, Jay didn't survive the attack, leaving Korey with scars and guilt.
While she did become a hunter out of rage to kill the halfblood.. As much as she wanted to deny it, it was also just for the thrill of it. Also because of a deal I talked about in part 2
I mean, comon! This is like the one job there is where they'll let you run around with weapons and put yourself in danger! Also, she knew that there's no point in harming the other halfbloods because they weren't the ones who killed Jay. Also, other than the thrill, this is like the perfect choice for her to prove that she isn't as apathetic, that she does care and is trying to make a "change" even if she thinks it's wrong
She's pretty indifferent with halfbloods at first, doesn't really mind their existence as long as they hurting anyone
Also, girlie is so fast to trust someone?? But it doesn't really show?? She was often criticized as being heartless by the village people, which ultimately became one of her reasons of becoming a hunter
When she goes manic, girlie is so SO much hyper then she already is, not being able to sleep for days from how energetic she is, ruining her mental health even more
Has a terrible habit of hurting herself when she's in a manic state, especially if she doesn't have her necklace on her
Also girlie is so shit cooking?? The amount of times she burnt water is concerning
And the number of times she'd got lost is worrying- please do not leave this girl by herself for more than 5 minutes or she will end up in another village, that's how bad her sense of direction is
And uh...i think that's it! I do have other posts explaining some things about Korey here, here two, here three, and here four <3
Sigh...adding this again, because tumblr deleted it-
Korey is friends with all of the bugs! But I decided to write a lil rant about what she thinks of some of em :3
Raine and Esther: they're the other founders!! Of course she likes them <3 they're both like sisters to her! Esther more mother figure then sisters, they would always go do errands together! (And because Korey is always getting lost) @willowve01 @asmrbrainrot
East, Lucy and LilyAnn: Korey's other parental figures :3, East more grandpa lol- she always goes to them for advice! Whether it be about Combat, relationships, or just to rant! Also loves to bother them with her energy (lovingly ofc) @itsargyle @castbracelet240 @tiefling-chaos
Her, Azren, and Ulysses are the no sleep trio lol, they'd stay up together to chat about whatever is on their mind, maybe even go on a little night outing while they're at it! @strayharmony943 @lunaritychuwolf
Loves Reya and Melody's energy! Always goes to dance practice with me when she's offered! @kaiamtt @iistxrmyskyii
Joan and Emerald are her clothing designers lol- they'd sometimes have a fashion runway for no reason but to try on new clothes and feel good about themselves <3 @rustycopper4use @aspenm00n
Amber and Victor! Loved to trade drawings with them! They all sometimes have little hangouts where they'd just draw whatever comes to their mind on eachothers notebook! @astralbulldragon13 @littlesiren79
And that's all! Tumblr istg if you delete this again I'll actually explode and itll be on your hands
I've mentioned her Hypomania and face blindness a few times, mostly her face blindness. But not what her BPD
Face blindness, or, Prosopagnosia, is a condition where you have difficulty recognising people's faces. There is no treatment, but there are things you can do to help you recognise people. But it's especially harder for Korey since she's almost blind in her left eye due to the fire incident.
She resorted to drawing the people she meets in her scrapbook so she wouldn't forget them.
Now to Korey's bpd and mania.
I'd like to put out- not all manic people have the same type of episodes, some are more dangerous some are more "lenient" this is just how it is for my character from past experiences with manic people and research.
She mainly experiences Hypomania (symptom of bipolar disorder, but can also be a symptom of other mental health conditions.) rather than full blown manic episodes. Although hypomania is not as severe as mania, it can also be dangerous and have negative effects on a person's overall well-being. One study found that people were more likely to engage in risky behavior during hypomanic episodes.
(The reason why she now has a buzzcut, is because in a manic state, she cut off her hair, but they were lucky enough that it didn't look bad)
It's pretty obvious Korey is very very reckless and hyperactive, and while it all mostly were desperate attempts for her parents attention, a lot of them did spiral into episodes, very dangerous ones. Korey's episodes would also result in her not sleeping for days. Most of the reason for her sudden energy is because of her mania, but there are times it's fuelled by adrenaline instead <- you can tell when she's having an episode when she's paranoid and not sleeping
There are days where her episodes are more depressive rather than manic. And she is the complete opposite of her natural optimistic self. Staying in her room in surprising silence. Barely eating or talking.
There's also a few times where her episodes get a bit.. too extreme to handle and end up hurting herself, or snapping at someone, and holy shit does Korey have a creative vocabulary when they snap. (She immediately starts apologizing when she snaps out of it)
Safe to say, she overthinks a LOT. Almost everything others do but never shows it, masking her disorder symptoms. Varen's usually the one who helps her get through these thoughts, being the greatest older brother he is.
She's a very troubled person, but they're trying their damn best to be a good friend to the bugs and the boys.
Coping
Her coping mechanisms at first was just "endure the pain, it'll go away soon" which.. isn't really a coping mechanism, but it helped her hold on, kinda.
It's a little healthier now, actually talking to someone about her feelings rather than bottling them up so it can result in an episode- but there are days where Korey would just, go into an abandoned house and absolutely destroy everything in sight, treating it like a rage room but also severely hurting her hands in the process.
There are times where they'd spend the entire night there, screaming and destroying everything in the process. Glass, wood, metal, doesn't matter, if it's in her way she's destroying it.
It's best not to bother them when she's like this, just let her take out her anger on objects rather than people..
Her go-to person to rant to is normally Raine or Esther ( @willowve01 and @asmrbrainrot ) or Calix if she's feeling brave ( @pinkcocopuff-aqualoid )
Though when she finally decides to talk about her feelings, their voice is almost completely gone from all the crying and screaming they did back at the abandoned building.
Jay Akeins. (He/They)
First! The Akeins family are all Rex followers, very few are Nixintes. Jay is one of the few family members.
Most followers of Nix are very welcoming and kind to everyone. But not Jay, definitely not Jay.
Because, boy, oh boy, is this a toxic relationship.
Jay and Korey met when they were both about 8 years old. Jay, with no family to actually care about and teach them, immediately got attached to Korey. Who wouldn't when they're the only one who showed you affection?
Jay's family is very, very close to the Adiels <- them and the Akeins have a long history together.
They were visiting the Adiels with his family before seeing Korey in the yard, playing by herself. So he approached her. And his obsession started a year later from there.
She actually did not like Jay at all when they were younger, but Korey was basically forced to be nice to him as kids by her parents, and it unfortunately grew into a habit that developed into whatever they have going on because it's definitely not a friendship.
Now, manipulation is a long-running theme in the Akeins family, even with the kids. Jay, noticing Korey starting to branch out with other people to befriend, along with his growing feelings thwords her, started using the manipulation to his advantage.
There were little to no boundaries in this friendship. Whenever Korey would express discomfort, they'd basically manipulate her into thinking she's overreacting, slowly mending Korey to how he wants her to be.
The only boundary Korey managed to put was them staying as friends and only that. But unfortunately, that didn't stop Jay from slowly breaking it. Eventually it did get to a point where they kissed (kinda forced?? But also not really??). Korey did make sure they stayed as friends after that. Refusing to bring it up and even ignoring whenever Jay asked.
In Jay's mind, they were destined to be together! To live happily ever after~ and his family fully encouraged this delusional dream of his. (He would NOT like Calix) The difference between him and a lot of other obsessive people, is that he's very aware of his actions, and he doesn't feel guilty.
Speaking of encouraging...Jay fully encouraged and enabled Korey's manic thoughts. And for those who somehow don't know, this is a seriously bad thing.
Jay hates Korey's siblings actually, seeing them as only an obstacle to get rid of. He scares Noah the most (how dare you). Thankfully, Esra caught him and was THIS 🤏 close to beating Jay's ass if Korey hadn't walked in.
They tried to convince Korey that her brothers were the ones at fault, but it was in vain as she didn't believe him. Korey unfortunately ended up forgiving Jay despite her brother's protests.
He and Korey attacked by a violent tiger halfblood at 14, Jay was brutally killed, Korey managed to survive.
They still haunt her. Even in death he won't leave her alone.
Korey's experience with Jay taught her that you can say no, and if they don't listen, you have the right to punch them.
Alive!Jay AU
He's basically the embodiment of the "red means I love you" song
Jay hates, and I mean they HATE the other bugs and the gator boys. Has tried multiple times to get Korey to leave them and stay with him and only him. All of his attempts have failed so far.
The baby bugs are not safe from his glare. He would never act on his thoughts though, can't risk Korey hating him (more than she already kinda does).
He occasionally gets chased by Quartz ( @aspenm00n ) and Everlynn yelling insults at him
(Korey actually has weekly sessions with the bugs and boys where they list all the reasons why Korey should break their friendship up)
He still hates Esra and Noah. Lynn has had to stand up for Noah many times, before also being brought to tears by Jay (how FUCKING dare you) This was one of the very few times where Noah actually snapped at someone, putting on a brave face and defending the little gal. Thankfully Esra was around and got Lynn and Noah out of this situation...before ripping into Jay.
^ This event is important, because it's where Korey started to lose trust in Jay
Safe to say, the bleeding heart trio were not happy after learning what happened.
He will pull every trick in the book to piss off one of the bugs.. specifically Raine and Varen ( @keyaartz ). He will get on every nerve, he will mention family, past experiences, anything to anger them— and use the situation against them to make them seem like the villain in the situation.
But out of everyone, he especially hates Calix because of his relationship with Korey. They intimidate him the most.
Varen has actually attacked Jay once when they first met–
Raine has had to resist attacking him too many times
And Korey is very close to beating his ass her damn self
Drawings~
Like zoinks dude, this seems like obsession rather than a crush—
Suggested this to @willowve01 and wanted to do one as well-
She's 19, turning 20!
Still a She/They bisexual, just a little less chaotic one this time (I'm fucking lying she's worse than OG korey)
A bounty hunter! Works with Raine best :3 Occasionally acts or models along with Esther and Raine. Her main weapon is a hand gun! (Dear god who gave this girl a gun, oh no, oh fuck-)
Her friend, Jay, was also an actor and basically suggested her when one of the actors couldn't pull through. Also, Marco helped!
Her backstory is still the same as her OG one. Parents are still very neglectful and emotionally manipulative (how has CPS not been called yet??) And she still has face blindness and Hypomania.
She has her own house, and her little brother Noah lives with her since he gets the same treatment from their parents instead of being the golden child like in the current au
Also, Raine's uncle Bill adopted her, so her and Raine are cousins now (trust me bro)
And of course, Varen is also adopted into the Adiel family! (Give up @keyaartz I'm winning this custody battle-)
She still has a lot of scars, and they're still there because she was a curious dumbass
Has a golden retriever named Argos (greek mythology reference lmao)
Noah is about 15, and Ezra is 24. He's an intern at a hospital
Has a full arm snake tattoo, matching with Jay but i keep forgetting to draw it- (Jay is dead in this au too so ig not anymore-)
GB headcanons
First met Marco during one of her first bounty hunts, gave her a few clues on the person she's after, and became friends from there (she was chasing someone with a knife and he was, as any other person would be, very concerned)
Introduced her to Timothy and Bodie a month into the friendship, and all 4 have been friends since
Occasional cooking lessons with Bodie because it does not matter if this is still a different AU. Girlie is still shit at it. Jer sense of direction is a LITTLE bit better tho (Raine still has to make sure her ass does not get lost)
Timmy dog sits Argos when she's out on a bounty hunt as it can take more than a day to find the person
Very long phone calls with him while she's out, basically just narrating everything that's happening while she finds the person "Yeah so anyways, I started blasting both bullets and 1980s music to get the suspect out of the house." -Korey, probably
Still haven't decided if I want Timmy and Korey to have crushes on each other or just be REALLY good friends.
Also, instead of pining on Sparky in silence like OG Korey did, she actually got into a relationship with her! Though it lasted 7 months before breaking up due to...'family' business and rivalries
_
When Timmy was kidnapped by Circe's hunters, she was called by Bodie to retrieve him at all costs, but then BAM! a portal opens, and there's like 2 different versions of the boys and 2 more bugs! <- How Korey canonicaly met Raine and Esther (@asmrbrainrot ) and probably the rest of the bugs aswell!
The fanon version is that Bill saved Korey, and she met Raine from there! They were both 14 at the time, so they've been friends for 5 years! And then they both met Esther when they started training together! She was both of their mentors :3
No major drawings this time, so just have these cropped photos of my drawings of what Korey would wear +2 doodles. I made half asleep
Going into a lil more detail about Korey, her scars, and relationship with her parents
KoreyAdiel
Firstly! The Adiel family are from Aakhan. Korey's parents are VERY well off, not struggling with anything major other than being horrible parents to their kids.
Korey has 2 brothers! The oldest is Esra at 24y/o and the youngest is Noah at 14y/o. And of course her adopted brother that I definitely didn't kidnap is Varen by @keyaartz <3
She first joined the hunters at 14 after losing a bet with one of the more experienced hunters, and because of the thrill.
Now, i've mentioned this multiple times that she does not have a good relationship with her parents, if there even was a relationship in the first place. Being neglected and ignored by the people who are supposed to care for you is obviously painful, mix that in with Korey's at the time undiscovered hypomania (which is basically a milder version of being manic) and prosopagnosia, the neglect affected her a lot worse than average.
So in turn, from when she was about 6 years old, started putting herself in dangerous situations to get their attention, to look at her just once. And, as she got older, her parents image started getting more and more blurry thanks to her face blindness. At 9 years old, in desperation and child naivety, she took a pair of scissors and tried to gouge out her eyes to give them to her parents, one for each, because in her head, her parents don't have eyes to see her, to look at her, so she'll give them hers.
Don't worry though! Her older brother Esra stopped her before she actually gouged out her eyes, it did leave a scar though, it's one of the three scars on her face.
Back to the neglect– Korey, unfortunately, wasn't exactly taught where the line is and when to not cross it, sure her grandparents taught her the basics of what's right and what's wrong, but have never once gone in depth about it, leaving Korey to learn boundaries the hard way. She's a lot better morally so!
Now- it's pretty obvious Korey has a lot, like a LOT of scars, most are from her being a reckless idiot desperate for her parents attention, though she does have ones that aren't from her dangerous adventures.
Example! The scar on her neck. she got that one when she was trying to save her best friend Jay from a very violent half-blood. Unfortunately, Jay didn't make it and Korey couldn't talk for about 2 weeks while her injury healed. Another wound caused by a half-blood is a HUGE scar on her back in an X shape, she got that one when she was on her first hunt at 14 y/o, she ended up catching them in the end though. She does also have scars from many, many fights.
Now from that, you can tell Korey didn't have the best experiences with half-bloods– but even then, she didn't have much of an opinion on them till she met the boys. Mostly just thinking of them as a lil more violent, strange looking person.
The rest of her scars are self inflicted to get parents attention. Actually has a burn scar on the covered side of her face from when she quite literally pushed herself into the fire, she's fine tho dw
Now– Korey is naturally hyper, it runs in the family. Her never-ending energy is actually the result of an old ancestor of the Adiel's delving into magic and drugs, though it was more magic than anything, explaining her ability to use it even if it's a little weaker than average.
Also she has INSANELY high pain tolerance?? She could jump off a mountain and barely feel anything. She can also be a little insecure about her scars when asked about them, developing a bit of body dysmorphia, but she's managing! Also gets so shy when her scars get complimented >_<
But y'know despite going through hell and back, she's still so, so trusting of others.
Also what would happen if current!Korey met beta!Korey?
And what happened that made you decide to change Korey into what she is now?
Yup ! Beta Korey is like, the complete opposite of Korey now.
She liked painting and peace, loud noises overwhelmed here and she loved painting! She gets scared so, so easily -> she was also mostly inspired by Kobeni from Chainsaw man!
When I first drew Korey and posted it here, she was supposed to have the same personality, just a little more optimistic and a little less scared. But then I started actually exploring her character, making her backstory and slowly fleshing her out more, and that eventually led to making Beta!Korey really, really hyperactive with a lot of problems.
Korey meeting her Beta self would be very chaotic—but I think current!Korey would notice how her beta self is overwhelmed, and would tone down her energy.
They'd bond over their trauma /hj
Bonus thing— idk if anyone's realized it yet because I'm making it subtle— but Korey is slowly turning more calm, acknowledging her problems, and being more worried about putting her life in danger because she now has so many friends waiting for her back home.
Any wholesome facts about Korey or just the Adiel siblings in general?
Noah occasionally crashes with Korey when he's especially stressed or anxious, and by crashes, I mean like 90% of the time he breaks in because she's most likely not home yet.
Korey doesn't mind, of course!she doesn't care about what he does as long as he's safe.
There are times when he would go to her at, like, the middle of the night. No words are exchanged between them during that, just sad glances. Korey pats the spot next to her, and Noah would sit there and eventually fall asleep.
They haven't been able to be for each other a lot growing up, so they've both been trying to open up to the other more. But even so, Noah has yet to tell her what keeps him up at night or the bruises on his arms
