touya didn't want to be a hero btw. he actually did not. shoto is the one who dreamed of being a hero. touya didn't. touya didn't have dreams of his own bc he was groomed since he was born but that's besides the point. THE POINT IS. as much as i love pro hero touya aus, and as true as it is that there were a thousand ways he could've managed the drawbacks from his quirk and become a hero if endeavor wasn't a pathetic loser who gave up on anything that didn't immediately go his way, in the end i think it's important to remember that being a hero was never really what touya wanted. he wanted his dad to love him. he wanted his dad's approval. his insistence on being a hero came from the fact that, since he was born, he was told that his dad only made him for that purpose, so becoming a hero was the only way to receive that love and approval. becoming a hero wouldn't have made touya happy. he wanted (and needed) unconditional love.
