#adipadpracticeideas The Rhythm Tree This is one I have dabbled with over the last few years and is popular amongst my favourite YouTube teachers and drummers. Probably because IT REALLY WORKS AND IS GENUINELY USEFUL! It’s also at the core of musical theory which makes it super musical as well and translates to other instruments. 65bpm+ unaccented single strokes working through quarter notes; quarter note triplets; eight notes; eight note triplets; sixteens; sixteen triplets; thirty second notes - and I love coming back down again. This can also be played using other common stickings such as doubles and paradiddles, and becomes remarkably challenging keeping track of the “one”! I have yet to try Flams and Drags but they’re on my radar. The accented Grade 7/8 Rockschool version can also be practiced, although the 5/7/9/10 tuplets are a bit bonkers and not really very useful for playing pop music. And just for fun here’s a close-up photo of my flat-based Gibraltar hardware. I love it and so does my back. #drums #rhythmtree #practice #drumpractice #padpractice #realfeel #realfeelpracticepad #realfeelpad (at Leicester, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9GiYNfHeaA/?igshid=nd72dfllr1xh
