What is Love || Eunmi and Miyoung
Lee Jinho was someone Eunmi thought was buried in the past, along with several high school memories. She recalled meeting him the day she was introduced to some of the members of the Gyeongbokgung Order that Taesun, Miyoung, Kyujong, and Sunjoon were all part of. After being introduced to the members of the Order when she was around eight years old, she was mandated to keep away from matters of the Order. This was the reason why she never knew so much about Lee Jinho. The day he disappeared from Miyoung's life was also the day Eunmi assumed that she would never hear of him again. In other words, the day the seventh generation of the Gyeongbokgung Order was declared disbanded was also the point when Jinho started slowly disappearing from Miyoung's life. Eunmi shook her head over her wine glass. That couldn't be right, could it? Hyeji said something about her father doing something to him. Perhaps the collapse of the mighty Gyeongbokgung Order had nothing to do with their parting of ways after all. Miyoung had never told her the details of how that relationship ended, although Eunmi was sure that it must have cut deep. After all, the first cut was supposed to be the deepest one, wasn't it?
As Eunmi watched "The Crown Prince and His Royal Consort" mingle with the crowd, she wondered why Miyoung suddenly wanted to look for Jinho. How Eunmi knew he was part of the Kappa Sigma fraternity was because she recalled a few Yonsei students, who aspired to be members of the Kappa Sigma, talk about a certain Lee Jinho pledging to that fraternity. What could Miyoung possibly achieve by wishing to find him? She couldn't want to get out of the marriage now. If that was what she wanted to achieve, then it was too little, too late. She was now married to Taesun, and no one had stood up and protested when given the chance months ago. What could she achieve by finding him now?
Eunmi would have told Hyeji to look in Haru, although she wasn't certain if the Lee Jinho some hostesses there spoke of with so much lust and reverence was the same as the one who had the distinction of being Song Miyoung's first love. Besides, there was NO WAY she was letting Hyeji enter that club alone. Miyoung and Jinho meeting at the ball was inevitable, but Eunmi felt that she wanted answers before the star-crossed lovers met again. She needed to hear Miyoung's side before she made any judgment. How was she going to do that without giving Hyeji away? She looked over to where Miyoung was and sighed. This was going to be tough, but she supposed that maybe she could let Miyoung know she'd still have her back, as long as she knew why she was backing up her best friend.
Eunmi sipped from her glass and smiled at the worried looks coming from her father who suddenly appeared by her side. He was her date for this ball, at least, until she meets the rumored bachelor the council set her up with. Together, Eunmi and King Jinhyuk wandered around the ballroom, greeting everyone they met. Eunmi saw Miyoung head for the restroom. This is my chance. "Appa, gentlemen," she said, smiling at her father and the other men they were conversing with, "if you would kindly excuse me." As she curtsied respectfully, she made a run for it, hoping to catch up to Miyoung in the rest room... alone.
