Oh my frickin gosh I forgot to tag @yuurivoice pls view this beautiful person's blog I'm addicted to his audios it's unhealthy XD but aye I just thought why not let the him read this fic so here lol. Hope you like it~ ------
“Up next is Yuuri Katsuki and Viktor Nikiforov skating ‘Stay Close to Me”
“These two brewed up quite the competition in the male pair skating competition and now we’re more eager to see what they have in stored for us.”
‘This is it,’ Yuuri thought as the intro of “Stay Close to Me” filled the whole rink. Supposedly he was supposed to skate alone first, and at some point Viktor will have to come in and skate with him.
Yuuri tried to put his anxiety aside as he begin to skate, keeping in mind the steps he had to do and the emotions needed to express the song beautifully. It wasn’t easy, but somehow he managed to do so.
The song ended and the audience’s screams and applause was heard.
Yuuri was breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath as he smiled alongside Viktor. The announcer’s praise was still heard as they both exit the rink, sitting on the bench with their hands intertwined as they await for their score.
Once revealed screams of joy was heard as the duo hugged. After their score was revealed, placing in first, they walked into the lobby only to be bombarded by interviewers and cameras.
Yuuri was happy, very happy, because without Viktor he wouldn’t be standing here. He wouldn’t have skated in the Grand Prix, and he wouldn’t have won the silver medal he now have.
“Yuuri,” the interviewer called “What can you say about your progress? A lot has surely changed since you placed 6th in the Grand Prix back when Viktor was competing, and I’m sure everyone wants to know your insight on all the events that took place to get you here.”
“If I didn’t lose, I wouldn’t have skated Viktor’s 'Stay Close to Me’. Viktor wouldn’t have flew to Japan to coach me, and a lot of things wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t lose,” Yuuri said, eyeing Viktor from the corner of his eyes. He looked proud, and was waiting for him to continue. Yuuri smiled and continued speaking.
“I can’t say that I’m proud of losing, but I certainly don’t regret it. With Viktor, I was able to control my anxiety and win the silver medal from last year’s Grand Prix. Most of all, he helped me become better, and honestly I wouldn’t want to know what would happen if he was never here with me,” Yuuri worded carefully, and screams were heard all over place as Viktor look at him with pride and kiss him on the cheek making him blush.
After the other competitors skated their performance, the duo still remained on top. They were now given medals on the podium, camera lights blinded their vision, figuratively of course.
Yuuri felt happy, practice beaming with happiness now that he finally, finally, won a gold medal and stood on top of the podium. But most of all, he was happy because he won this with Viktor, the man he loves with every fiber of his being, he owes everything that happened, from helping him with his anxiety and winning this gold medal with him.
“Yuuri~” Viktor called, putting an arm around his lover after they got changed. “Let’s go on a date~” “But I’m tired…” Yuuri said as he buried his face into Viktor’s shoulder. Yuuri was exhausted, but Viktor chuckled.
“You’re not the one who lifted the other as we skate a while ago.” “But still,” Yuuri whined, looking up at him. Viktor found him adorable, and he thought how extremely lucky he is to have this wonderful man as his fiance. “Can’t we just stay at the hotel and chill? I don’t think my body will last long enough to walk around for a date,” Yuuri said. Viktor pouted at him but let him have his way.
“Okay then. Lazy date it is! I get to choose the movie,” Viktor demanded and Yuuri rolled his eyes as they get out of the locker room, his arm around Viktor’s waist as Viktor’s arm stay wrapped around Yuuri’s shoulder. “Fine, you do it,” Yuuri told Viktor, giving way for a small smile to take form as Viktor cheer in a childish manner.
As they walk, a single statement stood out from all the thoughts running wild in his mind.
'I’ll never love someone as much as I love Viktor.’
As the movie played in front of them he can’t help but drift away into deep slumber.

I awoke in a hospital bed. That’s…strange I don’t remember getting into an accident.
I heard the gasps of relief from my parents. They bombed me with a lot of questions, which overwhelmed me along with confusion.
“Ah mom? Where’s Viktor?”
Hiroko’s face melted into confusion.
“Viktor? That Russian skater you like? He’s in Russia why?”
Wait what? But I thought…
“But mom, wasn’t he here? I mean he’s my partner he should be here?”
I was afraid to tell them he’s my…uh…fiancé. I mean I’m glad I’m engaged with him but I still don’t know how to tell my parents.
“Partner? What do you mean partner? Did you mistake him for your coach? If you are then Celestino’s outside, waiting”
My chest felt heavy, I didn’t know how to react. What even happened?
“He’s…not my partner? Mom…what happened anyways?” She was about to tell me, but a knock on the door interrupted her and the door opened to reveal the doctor.
“Hello,Yuuri. It’s nice to see you awake,” the doctor said, and I stiffly nodded making my mom give me a worried glance. “How are you feeling, right now?” “I thought it was obvious,” I said, half joking and half stating the truth.
He smiled sympathetically. “I get that you’re confused, Yuuri. After all, you’ve been in coma for two months.”
My eyes widen, staring at the doctor with disbelief.
The doctor sighed, and continued to explain.
“Remember going on that flight to Japan? The one after your recent competition.”
“Well turns out that your plane crashed resulting a majority of passengers injured with as small as scratches to…well a coma. Some…were not as lucky and have passed”
“Oh, well what else happened?”
“You have a few visitors, friends I assume? But we’ll let them in once you feel better. Get some rest Katsuki-san. I’ll be going.”
And with that the doctor left.
The room was silent until I asked my mom yet again.
“So mom…what about Viktor?”
“As I tried to tell you, I’m pretty sure the guy’s in Russia. I don’t remember him being your partner, Yuuri, so I don’t know why he should even be here”
“He’s…not my coach? He’s…not my…fiancé ”
“Fiancé? Yuuri…” My mom was talking but all noise was lost except for the fast beat of my heart. I felt like telling them to leave me alone but I can’t make a sound. My hands were shaking, and my eyes are tearing up, and all I heard was the closing door as they exit the room. I erupted into sobs, my whole world crashing down.
Depressing thoughts, what ifs and scenarios popped in my head.
I just couldn’t accept the fact that he’s not a part if my life.
That without him I could never make history.
