MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE GARRISON (x)

My name is Anima Nightmate, and I go by ze/zir or they/them pronouns. I’m not sure I have a favourite Musketeer, but I do massively over-identify most consistently with Athos and Constance, so make of that what you will. I found the show on Netflix shortly after it first came out there, and had the shock of my life when I realised that a) they’d properly updated the story and delivery, b) I really enjoyed it, c) one of my acquaintances played the hapless Red Guard who gets distracted by Constance’s metaphors. Then Netflix went wrong on our device and for one reason and another I didn’t start watching again until 2018, whereupon I swiftly became obsessed, and started writing fanfic from the beginning of season 2 onward.

I write a fair amount of fanfic for the show, but I also now make podfics and draw fanart. I got into AO3 for Reasons, then from there got into Tumblr (something about another fan’s homecrafting and socks?) and from there found the discord server in its early incarnation. I now help to run its current iteration and, if “obsessive levels of research about the era” count as an engagement with/ expansion of fandom, then add that to the list too.

My main Musketeers-flavoured blog is @animanightmate on Tumblr, but I also reblog a fair amount of other stuff that makes me go ooh. If I haven’t reblogged your thing it’s probably because I’m working out how to create a decent image description of it.

Hi there! I am Nin, Lover of Languages, Bringer of Chaos and Swashing the Buckle. She/her, though any pronouns work.

My fav musketeer and the one with whom I identify the most is Athos, and my favourite episode could be any of Season 1 or 2; really, I adore them all– though Season 2 is my absolute favourite. I watched the series when it came out but never interacted with the fandom (or at least, the English side of it) until recently, though I’ve been known to play and write Athos on and off in various RPG campaigns for years; being a nineties babe, my first introduction to Dumas’s story were The Muskehounds.

I do write (though I mainly daydream about my fics and then, though they’re mentally written, it takes me ages to actually type the stuff), I hardly ever draw, but I love to do some manips when I have the time. Count reading obscure stuff about the era and then babbling enthusiastically about it among my hobbies, though most of the time I just read and enjoy other people’s approach to this fandom, and flail helplessly at their talent.

My best friend told me about Musketeers BBC around 2016 I guess, in more or less these terms « It’s leathery costume nonsense, come watch with me » I was hooked.

I don’t really write yet, I’d love to get into it though. I sometimes draw but it’s been a while !

I found the show during quarantine in December and fell in love with these idiots almost immediately! Hello and welcome (back) to The Main Drag Things!

This blog is currently run by (1) admin.

With the return to Tumblr happening, I’ve noticed it’s sometimes difficult to find blogs to follow that are currently active, and that goes even more so for blogs pertaining to niche interests. I’ve been wondering if now is a good time to bring this one back, and I’m still not sure. I mean, a blog for a band that isn’t even together anymore? But music is eternal and can always be appreciated: and so, here we are!

The admin is still not a hundred percent completely ready for launch, so for the first week or so there may not be a lot of activity here.

Still, I’m happy to see you all here and hope I can even make some new fans of the band here!
