Run.

All you could do now was run. 

Feet sore, lungs burning. Your heart felt like it was only a few pumps away from beating right out of your chest. But you can’t stop, not even for a second. No matter how much your body begged for a break. 

Twisting around trees, rocks and shrubs, the forest felt like a never ending maze. And you, of course were they mouse being hunted through it. You could almost hear the sinister chuckle you had been running from. Could almost see those piercing red eyes.

Fear consumed your every nerve. Your body began slowing down, much to your dismay. You observed your surroundings. Did those trees look familiar? Had you been running in circles the entire time? It was getting harder and harder to tell. You slumped against the nearest tree trunk you could reach. The dizziness behind your eyes and the ringing of your ears had finally taken over. Surely you had to have at least gained some distance now. You’re... safe... right?

“Tired already, love?” the dark voice chuckled.

No.

It can’t be.

He walked around to stand in front of you. The light of the full moon glistened off his fangs as he smiled down at you. That smile... His face was too beautiful for what he was. Leaning down, he extended a hand towards your face. You were too exhausted to even move. 

“What a shame. We were just starting to have fun.” He held your jaw, tilting his head as he examined your face. “I must say, you gave quite the chase.” Your eyes squeezed shut, bracing yourself for whatever he would do next.

“No, no, no. That won’t do.” he said, his hand moving to your throat. He raised your body to have you standing fully, with your back pressed against the tree behind you. “Look at me.”

Your eyes shot open, meeting the crimson irises before you. The corners of his lips curled up slowly, sharpened canines peeking from behind them. Amusement shone within his eyes.

“That’s better.” 

“Please... don’t kill me.” your voice came out quiet. Barely heard over your own pulse drumming through your ears. He paused for a moment, staring at you before letting out a soft chuckle. In any other circumstance, you may have found it endearing. 

“Oh sweet thing, I’m not going to kill you.” he said softly. He leaned in closer, his breath ghosting over the side of your face as he spoke directly into your ear.

“I just want to taste you...”
