If any of you are wondering why I rarely politically post, it's because I have a firm belief that acting politically is supposed to be done irl. I'm a hater of slacktivism. I unironically think that the picture below is 100 percent correct.
That is part of the reason why I don't frequently politically post, but it's also because this blog is supposed to be a place where I can have fun and not give into despair. Having fun and being creative is key to not giving in. I'm going to keep living my life while doing what I can to help others. It's all I can do. However, social media has value in organizing people and spreading awareness. It can't be understated. The massive "No Kings" protest happened because it was organized over social media. So, in the end, what I think should be done is using social media to spread awareness should be done alongside real political action. It's really easy to fall into the trap of thinking you're making progress through online spaces, but you're actually not making any real dents in injustice if you're relying solely on that.
