To hear her confusion so vivid and real, it shifted deep into Sora's heart in a way he couldn't help but recognize. The feeling that someone forgot who you were, through no fault of their own. Through no decision of their own. Though that still didn't feel good on Sora's end. He kept that hand out when she began to stand, making sure that she was fully up before even daring to let go.
"Don't overdo it, okay? You're still recovering. . ." And he was quick to realize that it would take a lot longer for her since her knees practically buckled. With the speed that he had honed through the months, Sora quickly grappled for Runa's shoulder, keeping her upright.
Couldn't say whether or not it made his heartrate quicken. The last thing he wanted was to have her fall and get even more hurt.
"S-Sorry, I realize I'm asking a million questions right now, but don't worry - the most important thing is getting you a place where you can lie down. I'll be on the lookout for more Heartless while we move on. . . They sure are small but they pack a good punch. I've been trying to rid all the Worlds of them, but it's taking a lot longer than I anticipated. You don't have to apologize, I'll go slower when answering your questions next time okay?"
Once they finally got a pace, Sora made it a point to keep himself at her side, knowing that his Keyblade was only a few splices of magic away in case he needed to defend again. Though it wasn't likely, seeing as how he made good progress of the numbers that appeared prior.
Still filled Sora with an insurmountable amount of grief that he swallowed. The last thing he wanted Runa to do was feel sorry for a silly old Keyblade wielder like Sora.
'Do you know me?'
Sora stopped, peering down at the floor where his giant shoes could be the only thing in his vision, besides the ground below him. Brought him back to the time Kairi couldn't remember who he was, but that he somehow felt familiar.
That was how it worked with someone like Sora right? He knew that he left a great impression on others, just as they did him. Didn't help the building of sadness that filled him, to be forgotten. Even for a second, he couldn't imagine the worry one would feel when they forgot someone. The emptiness, the piece of them missing.
"Y-yeah, yeah I know you." He turned to face Runa, a smile pinned on his face. It was no fake smile, either - the history they had, it was worth smiling. "It's a bit complicated right now, but I can explain better when you get some rest and those injuries looked at. Are you hungry?"
Tapping left and right pockets, Sora searched for his pouches of money until he found the one sunk deep into one of his leg pockets. It was more than enough for something refreshing and a place to stay for a night or two. Hearts know if he was going to be getting to sleep any time soon tonight.
"Here's a bench, let's sit awhile and we can figure out what looks good." There they rested in the village Sora had described. Almost like Traverse Town, with the lights hung up, tavern sounds and people walking and talking. The smell of food, it wafted just enough to make his stomach churn in hunger. They must have a place to sleep here too.
And a medicinal shop besides. . .
Runa followed Sora's lead with a nod towards the village he had mentioned prior. Her gaze watched as the brunet remained at her side as they made their way along the path ahead of them. A part of her wanted to tell him that she could take care of herself--
But she wasn't really in any position to say that, all things considered. Even when he said he'd keep an eye out for anymore Heartless, should they end up crossing paths with them again, it was like a thought was stifled from leaving her mouth.
When she had asked if Sora knew her, she blinked at seeing him practically freeze at the question. A slight tilt of her head as she watched the other, waiting for his response as he stared at his shoes for what felt like forever.
Then he finally looked back at her. With a smile that brought back that wave of familiarity from earlier when they first met. Though, by what he was saying: It wasn't their first meeting. And if the smile he was giving her was anything to go off of, Runa was at least glad that whatever history they had, it was enough to make him smile.
Complicated.. But worth smiling for... The girl couldn't help but wonder. The promise of knowing more once she was well rested and healed almost had her getting nervous.
"Ah--" As the two of them made it to the village, Runa had completely forgotten about food. She glance down at her stomach, feeling a slight rumble. The girl couldn't help but frown in embarrassment.
"Yeah.. I could go for some food 'bout now.." The girl admitted sheepishly as she took a seat on the bench Sora had found. Finally being able to rest somewhat, Runa felt a wave of relief wash over her. While walking wasn't so bad once they had gotten a good stride in, being off her feet since she woke up felt so nice.
Hearing Sora's stomach grumble as well at the smell of food, she couldn't help but look over at him. A giggle managed to bubble it's way past her lips. "Looks like I'm not the only one that's hungry."" She teased, poking his shoulder.
"Is this your first time in this place? I thought you've been here before?" Runa asked, raising an eyebrow at him. "Whatever I'm smelling though right now, smells amazing if you wanna grab that to eat?"
