As mentioned before on admin Yoda’s blog, Skylight Records is going to be shutting down. We’ve had a good run these past few months and it is all because of the amazing members we’ve gathered here. Though there have only been a few of you it’s still been an absolutely amazing ride so thank you for making this directory feel like such a wonderful home. We’re sorry that it had to come to us shutting down but, sometimes, things are for the best yeah? The admin team hopes that you understand everything that is going through our minds and why we decided to close the place down. We felt as if the directory wasn’t going in the directory that we wanted despite the revamp-- along with a few other person reasons related specifically to each admin.
We’re sorry to see this wonderful home go, but please know that we love and appreciate each and every one of you. So yeah. This is goodbye. Thanks for the wild ride!

ABOUT:
Not only a month after his departure announcement from YouTube, Skylight Records’ Luxe has debuted as a soloist with his first single King of Kings. The single is the first to be released in the idol’s “King Trilogy" concept, which is set to detail the fall and rise of a king. Flower, the title song for this single, was written by Luxe and produced by fellow label mate soloist and producer, Yoda. The song, from what was assumed from the music video, details a king who has forgotten where he came from and how he’s trapped in the own little world he has created for himself.
Sexuality is a song about love. A complete opposite from the meaning behind Flower. The lyrics were written by Luxe in collaboration with lyricist Kenzie. The song was also produced by Yoda and Ryan S. Jhun, who also produced songs for big names like Lee Hyori, Shinee, and I.O.I. The song mentions two lovers being polar opposites, but when they are one, they’re practically invincible. The love being a mystery, even blissful like when you’re drunk.

Your first few days at a company can be a little nerve-wracking. You never really know what kind of people or what kind of events to expect. Things always seem a bit unusual until you fall into a routine and get to know your surroundings. But let’s go back and explore what it was like prior to joining the company.
This monthly prompt will explore your muse’s past and may even provide additional character development. It should be written in self para form with a minimum of six paragraphs. This month’s prompt, however, will be required by everyone, as we hope to improve our dash activity as a whole and to explore with our characters.

Describe the process of coming to terms when signing a contract with Skylight. What kind of sacrifices did your muse have to make for the company, and what kind of things did the company have to compromise with your muse? How long did the entire process take and why did your muse decide to sign a contract with Skylight?
FOR MUSES THAT ARE STAFF MEMBERS:
Your muse has decided to start a career at Skylight Records working behind the scenes or closely with the idols. What was the reason your muse chose Skylight out of all the other entertainment companies? Was your muse fresh out of college, or have they worked in the industry prior to applying at Skylight? How long as it before they received a job offer from the company?

Tips on Skylight’s Audition Process:
01. Applicants are given a number and are given an estimated time of when they’ll be auditioning.
02. It’s best if you arrive an hour and a half before your estimated time so you can check in and warm up.
03. Auditions are done individually and the only people in the room with you will be the talent scouts and some higher up representatives of the company.
04. You’ll have to prepare a lot of your audition material in advanced. If you come unprepared, you’ll end up having to sing acapella and freestyle. Most of the time, you’ll be required to sing the first verse and chorus or rap 16 bars (1 verse) before you’re cut off. Sometime the representatives will let you continue on longer.
05. If you prepared a dance routine, you must provide your own music. If you didn’t come prepared with one, you’ll be asked to freestyle.
06. Sometimes, but not often, you can showcase any talents such as playing instruments.
07. If the representatives happen to like you, they’ll sometimes ask you to stay later for an extended audition, which will usually include more singing.
08. Depending on where you did your audition, it should take at least a week to a month to hear back from the company. People who auditioned in Korea will usually hear back a lot quicker than those who auditioned globally. If you haven’t heard anything in more than a month, it’s safe to assume that you weren’t accepted.
09. If you auditioned globally, the company will usually ask you to fly to Seoul for a second audition if they’re considering on accepting you.
Tips on Contract Signing:
01. Your muse will be meeting with the highest officials, including the CEO, when it comes to signing contracts at Skylight.
02. There will always be some things that Skylight will not tolerate that your previous company tolerated. Making sacrifices are normal.
03. Depending on the terms you and the company have both thrown out, coming to an agreement may take days to a month
Tips on Staff Interviews:
01. Interviews are usually schedules after you’ve submitted your resume to the company.
02. You may not hear right away from the company after your interview.
03. More often than not, Skylight will usually put you in a training period as soon as you join the company. They want to make sure you’re doing your job.
