okay uh.. no daily today. i actually have a little announcement

so! i have caught up with reposting all the previous dailies from twitter that i didn't post on here since the tumblr acc started out waaay later (first post here was twitter's #274)

but now that accounts of both of those platforms are up to date, i don't really have it in me to draw jadenep on the daily anymore ToT i am not saying that i'm taking a break or leaving! i'm just going to do the same thing as I've been doing on twitter... irregular dailies

i'll be trying my best to post weekly / bi-weekly. i hope you will still continue to support my jadeneps despite the irregularity 🙇🙇🙇

hello, i love this blog, its super cute! i was wondering if you havent said so already, what are your headcanons for jadenep?

how would they begin to hang out more? what are their feelings towards eachother? do they get along right away, or does it take time? what sorts of things do they enjoy to do together?

thank you!! woah i really like this ask... i haven't really talked much about headcanons before but i definitely gave it some thought :p

ramble incoming.. i'm sorry if it doesn't exactly answer your questions i kind of went off topic somewhere there i'm sure

the canon jadenep crumb we're stuck with is that one mention of jade being nepeta's favorite kid, and her futile efforts to chat with her (but nepeta will purrserve, she says!!) but that already left me with lots of headcanon material honestly. and makes me think that in the long run it's nepeta that fell for jade first, so she initiates a lot of stuff. conversations, making friends

i think if nepeta stayed true to her words, she'd eventually find a way to get jade to actually talk to her and not just shoo her away immediately. maybe nepeta would be a little desperate with it, being like 'see that im dropping my rolepurray shtick just so you know im not joking!'

if jade only gave her a chance, then things would go super smooth... jade seems to be way more nice and patient with the trolls that don't go out of their way to make her mad. nepeta never intended to make her mad but i believe jade was just so fed up with everyone else at some point (karkaaaattt) she dismissed every other troll thinking everyone was trying to bully or distract her...

okay, and if they did not get along via pesterchum, if nepeta stayed alive throughout the entirety of meteorstuck and then everything that happened afterwards, i think it could be a bit more awkward for them to get along, but definitely possible!! i think nepeta would still try to go for it and make friends with jade and jade wouldn't be opposed, but i actually don't think she'd go out of her way to befriend nepeta at first herself :o

like yeah they share interests but i think it'd be awkward if someone introduced them just because they both have a furry thing going on and they were to be like 'oh yeah i really like furries' 'me too lets talk about it' 😭😭😭 instead i think they initially would grow closer by hanging out with their mutual friends. my first thought was karkat and dave? the two possibly making jade and nepeta both thirdwheel.. because as much as fun it gets, these guys eventually go on those incomprehensible for everyone around them ramblings. so yeah that's when jade and nepeta both help themselves to each others company and tune out the davekats!

tldr i think in general it would take jadenep some time to just befriend each other. the next step after being friends would take them even longer i fear😭 nepeta never intents to confront her redrom feelings, convincing herself it's fine, that she will just keep them to herself and maybe they'll go away eventually. and jade most likely is unsure what she feels towards nepeta, brushing them off as being just close friends, not knowing the boundary between platonic and romantic affection, as well as not knowing social cues very much (which makes nepeta's crush a little tougher to endure LOL). and whether jade is interested participating in troll romance is something i haven't really figured out. but i definitely can see jadenep in a red or pale quadrant. blackrom jadenep sounds interesting as well, but i wonder what would make nepeta all spades for jade :o

and even if they were in a human-typical relationship, like romantic or queerplatonic, i definitely see that too!! they are really flexible honestly. i also like them as friends. they're so fun to think about but damn i do wish we had more stuff to work with them from canon.. jadenep nation we were so robbed

yes i do!! i'm indecisive as hell but this magnet jadenep is definitely one of my faves.. i really like this art of jadenep in traditional polish dresses too

i also enjoy all the simple animated stuff i've done as i normally don't animate at all, but it's so so satisfying to see jadenep move around 🥹 (unfortunately i have to keep them rather simple in terms of both movement and editing or else i'd probably lose my sanity)

what did you think of the pilot!!!!! also this blog brings me so much joy thank you for doing what you do!!!!!!!!!!

i liked it to be honest! i do have a few issues with it but i also understand that it's just the pilot.. generally though it was fun to me :D felt so surreal though.. the 11 minutes were like 5 to me it went by so fast
