Cheaper Adobe Portfolio

I finally escaped the Adobe shackles by using only DaVinci Resolve, Gimp and other tools, only to find my website disappeared since it was hosted on the Adobe Portfolio service. Being unmotivated to re-create in another tool I discovered InCopy is about £5 a month and includes the Portfolio. Not quite free of Adobe yet, but this is cheaper.

I hate how adobe was so vile not to tell me I should subscribe to them BEFORE I SPENT 2 HOURS GETTING MY PORTFOLIO TOGETHER AND COULD NOT PUBLISH IT

My portfolio on Adobe Portfolio 

I found the site very simple to use, using the templates provided made things very simple and hassle free. One only needs an account with abobe creative cloud to publish their folio. 

Flickr Profile 

I also created a flickr account and uploaded various albums from my archive. The site hasn’t evolved much in the last few years as it is rather mothballed and forgotten about, but still easy to use and a simple way of displaying some of your work. With a free account you can upload 1000 images, with a paid membership I believe you get a terabyte’s worth of storage.

My website dilemma

I’ve never been sure if i should have a website dedicated to showing off my photography, i use flickr and Viewbugto show some of my work but i don’t pay, by choice, for the privilege. In fact i object strenuously to having to pay for a website because i dont think i actually use them to their best advantage. I think my money is used in better ways, like for food, than hosting a website i forget…

Hope everyone is ~making it through~ quarantine and using this time for self-care and reflection! I’ve really been going through it.. probably too much time to overthink. But aside from trying to manage my emotions and skin routine, I’ve been working on my portfolio! Check it out here!

I’m also taking French classes and coding classes online, but my motivation is near zero - I can’t figure out how people succeed in online classes. I also really want to start making products that I can sell on Etsy. I’ve always dreamt of having my own online business, and I guess there’s no better time to start then now! I’ll keep y’all updated x
