I’ll try to figure it. Three theatre singers. Idina and Willemijn have been both “official” Elphaba’s (Renée was an alternate I think?) and Willemijn and Renée are both dutch and have been in WWRY. But what could have in common Idina and Renée? o_o
My thinking was:
Willemijn and Renée are Dutch, and Idina's not
Willemijn and Idina have both played Elphie in more than one country, Renée hasn't (and both on both Broadway and in the West End)
Renée and Idina have only played Elphie in one language, Willemijn's done it in three
And you could have your ones too. Or Willemijn and Idina have both been Amneris. And Elsa.
adoctorflyingsolo replied to your post: -prays I’ll actually like the London cast for once...
I saw Rachel and Louise in 2011, they were perfect! They have a big place in my heart, but I don’t like Louise as Elphaba. Aaand, Willemijn is perfect.
I loved Lou's Glinda (I think she's much more of a Glinda than an Elphie, but that's personal opinion).
However, the worst theatre performance I've ever seen was actually at Wicked London. That's including bootlegs. I don't know what happened, but on this particular day, it was like everyone went: "meh". And I was angry. I was furious. I had spent about £200 getting to London and for what? For notes to be cut short, for lackluster acting, for no heart. And I felt a little ashamed that this was meant to be my favourite show (probably why I was so angry, I knew how amazing it could be). It's one of the only times I've ever left a theatre disappointed by what I just saw. (The only other time was Wicked London as well, but Nikki being on made up for it, tbh). For the first time, I could see how people could dislike Wicked so strongly.
It was heartbreaking, to be honest.
I've never been a fan of Rachel's Elphaba, and seeing her 5 times was a bit much for me. (And not by choice either, I booked to see Nikki and the dates got changed at least twice).
So yeah, let's just say I haven't been the London productions biggest fan for...a while, actually.
