Adolphe Sax’s trombone with seven bells. 1876. Not one of his more popular innovations.
Belgian inventor/musician Adolphe Sax patented the saxophone today in 1846. 🎷
Adolphe Sax was a Belgian inventor and musician who created the saxophone in the early 1840s, patenting it in 1846. He also invented the saxotromba, saxhorn and saxtuba. He played the flute and clarinet. He was eventually bankrupted by lawsuits brought against him by competitors challenging his patents, and he suffered disfiguring accidents, assassination attempts and a cancerous tumor on his lip.

i’m probably totally overthinking this, but do the episode subjects for this season relate to the professor hologram? adolphe sax couldn’t be killed, so the hologram is also going to be harder to get rid of (that episode the professor also mentioned that the hologram and algorithm were left unattended in the dumpster). wu zetian was ruthless in becoming emperor, so the hologram will do anything to take the professor’s place. robert liston related to the hologram skinning ryan, so i feel like it’s not too much of a stretch
adolphe sax and rasputin should have a coven of unkillable wizards
