What is your opinion of twelve? I cant really form one until I see him playing the role.
On the one hand I'm a little upset that they didn't at LEAST cast a POC? It sounds to me from the way Moffat was talking, that they didn't even do auditions. They just had Peter in mind and called him in, and that was that.
On the other hand, I like him. I LOVE that he's older, and frankly I still find him attractive. (But then again, I never found Matt attractive, so I guess I don't feel COMPLETELY bothered by the people who are already not liking Peter for being "too old and not attractive".) I really do love that he's older. I wanted to go back to older Doctors. I can see him being more like Nine, or like the Classic Doctors, older and more mature.
And for the record, I don't think I'll ship Clara/Twelve (I'm rooting for a father/daughter vibe), BUT... I don't agree with people saying they "can't" ship them or "feel weird" doing it because of the age difference. I mean, so what if he's older? Don't be ageist, ya'll. She's legal, even if they do make Clara look like she's like 13-15 some times.
But I digress because it isn't really about his 'shippability' for me. It's about how well he'll play the Doctor, and I think he'll be really good, but we'll all have to wait and see, obviously. Who knows what type of Doctor he'll be! (Personally I'm hoping for more of a mature, intellictual-but-quirky sort.)
