Today, Thursday the 1st of February is 'World Galgo Day'. This date also marks the end of the Spanish hunting season. Every year in Spain tens of thousands of 'Galgos', also known as 'Spanish Greyhounds' are bred for the sole purpose of hunting. At the end of the season, no longer of any use, the Galgos are killed or abandoned.
