Today, Thursday the 1st of February is 'World Galgo Day'. This date also marks the end of the Spanish hunting season. Every year in Spain tens of thousands of 'Galgos', also known as 'Spanish Greyhounds' are bred for the sole purpose of hunting. At the end of the season, no longer of any use, the Galgos are killed or abandoned. Here are a couple more photos of Axel from last night because, well, I just don’t have any photos of my dogs 😊🤣 I will be taking a couple of balls along next time as I’m not a real fan of dogs and sticks! I took a trip to the beach last night to meet this gorgeous chap. His name is Axel and he is 11 years old 😍 as well as being ridiculously handsome he has the most loving nature. A total cuddle monster and a real leaner 💘 I am in love 😁 his Mum and I are hoping to meet up some more and I’ll take Beryl or Asher along for a play date. It was so much fun to photograph a dog that runs around for a change 😃 (at Foxton Beach)

Today is Asher’s 7th Birthday 🎂 💜 it’s nearly over now but we spent a few hours this afternoon and evening helping spread the word about what wonderful pets Greyhounds make. He spent most of the 3 or so hours at the event being cuddled by children. I am so proud of him. He’s not a social butterfly by any stretch of the imagination, but he handles himself with so much dignity and is always very charming to all and sundry at these events 🧡 here’s hoping some more Greyhounds find their couches after the great team effort today 😍
