Daisy, left, and Millie, right, are in urgent need of a home or [REPUTABLE] rescue (not accepting pledges on either of these dogs). Our little Agoura shelter has been over capacity this entire summer due to the neighboring county's new "no kill" proclamation. They have completely stopped accepting any and all owner surrenders, leaving those people to either take matters into their own hands or take their animals to the next closest shelter, which is Agoura. This is beginning to hurt our animals as we have just 48 kennels and already serve a huge part of LA county and help relieve the higher intake LA shelters by transferring dogs. We have been so proud of our 90%+ adoption rate but lately this has been next to impossible because of the neighboring shelter's absolute refusal to accept owner surrenders from their community. PLEASE, help us!!!! Daisy and Millie are the longest term residents at our shelter and have waited far too long for a home of their own. Daisy: She is so lovable, just wants to be a big lap dog. Loves toys, especially rope toys. Is nonreactive to other dogs but definitely prefers to be an only dog. So sweet and mellow. Walks well on a leash. Low energy, would do fine in an apartment. Housebroken. Millie: 8 year old beautiful shep. Millie is great with people, not other dogs. Loves water. Walks well on leash.
