These adorable Krispie Treat Chicks are a perfect springtime treat for kids. They are easy to make and are sure to bring smiles to everyone's faces. The crispy rice treats are transformed into cute little chicks with candy eyes, beaks, wings, and legs. A delightful and delicious treat for any occasion!
Ingredients: 6 cups crispy rice cereal. 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 1 package 10 oz marshmallows. Yellow food coloring. 12 large candy eyes. 12 orange candy-coated chocolates e.g., M&M's. 24 small white marshmallows. 12 mini chocolate chips. 12 pretzel sticks.
Instructions: In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add the package of marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted and smooth. Add a few drops of yellow food coloring to achieve your desired chick color and mix well. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the crispy rice cereal until it is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Using buttered hands or a silicone spatula, press the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes. Once the mixture has cooled, cut it into 12 equal squares. To create each chick, press two small white marshmallows onto the top of each square to form the eyes. Attach a large candy eye to each white marshmallow using a dab of melted marshmallow as glue. Press an orange candy-coated chocolate into the center of each square to make the beak. Insert two mini chocolate chips, pointed side down, just below the eyes to create the wings. Finally, insert a pretzel stick into the bottom of each square to make the chick's legs. Your Krispie Treat Chicks are now ready to be enjoyed as a fun springtime treat for kids!
