Part 2 of 3. This round we get Adrian.

14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?

Adrian’s bad with names, but very good with faces. Maybe it’s a shapeshifter thing idk but they definitely will recognize someone, whether or not they remember the name.

19. What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?

………….there are. So many. Adrian is flaky for one. Flighty. Not prone to sticking around the same place for long periods of time when they have a choice. They’re inherently selfish and always prioritizing themselves. If they care about someone else enough, they’ll prioritize them, too, but it’s still in a way where like… they’ll happily watch the world burn—they will burn it down themselves—if it would protect themselves and anyone they care about. This combination of traits has definitely destroyed a few relationships.

22. What does your character like in other people?

Wit. Ambition. Sometimes softness. But cleverness is one of Adrian’s favorite traits to see in someone else. It makes them more fun.

One of the core flaws of the SIA is that so very few people are actually loyal to it instead of to the people within it.

So like let’s say some Mar.vel style Sh.ield/Hy.dra drama went down in the organization??

PJ is loyal to the organization but her top priority would be to make sure her agents were okay. Adrian would follow PJ without hesitation, at least long enough to make sure PJ would be alright (if they knew PJ would be fine and the opportunity for escape came? Adrian would be gone). Ivar would follow PJ. Valentin would be conflicted, but only because of his sister and in the end? He thinks the organization is sketchy as hell so he’d pick PJ. Orion is the only one who doesn’t have loyalties to either really? But he knows that PJ has more knowledge than she’s shared with him, so he’d stick with her.

Talon would take Wren and run. She’s picked up a lot of useful and dangerous powers over the years and the minute she heard the SIA was crumbling? She’d know whatever was next would come after her and her son, so she’d be on a plane/boat out of the country, honestly. She knows where most of the SIA connections are, so she’d pick a country that shouldn’t have many/any and build them a life there. Wren would hate it, but he’d go anyway, because she’s home now.

Adrian is the only SIA Agent to call her ‘PJ’. Everyone else uses ‘Agent Watson’ or ‘Priscilla’ depending on how close they consider themselves to her.

Adrian and Ivar got along great when they first met. The two have similar laid back attitudes and senses of humor, but they can both be good employees when the time calls for it. They were practically friends.

And then Adrian heard the rumors about Ivar coming to the agency. They didn’t wanna go off of rumors, so they asked and Ivar didn’t deny it. He’d strolled right into the SIA and asked for a job.

Maybe it was irrational, but Adrian felt furious. Because Ivar had the one thing that Adrian values above all else-- freedom-- and he walked into the building and gave it up and nothing was even wrong. He wasn’t in danger, wasn’t threatened. Adrian understands why Valentin took the deal, why Orion did, and even to some extent why PJ did. But they’re never going to understand why Ivar did-- because there wasn’t a deal to take. He proposed one himself.

Although they’re not thrilled to feel this way, they’re always going to resent him a little. Because he could have lived the life Adrian wanted to live and he gave it all up of his own volition.

Ivar doesn’t really understand Adrian’s anger. He has a vague idea of why they feel this way, but he couldn’t do anything to alleviate the feelings even if he wanted to, so he mostly just... doesn’t address them. The two still occasionally work together and it goes smoothly enough, but they’re not almost-friends anymore.

Adrian read Ivar’s name in a file before they ever met him and that was when they nicknamed him Ivy. They now know it doesn’t quite work, but he’s never complained about the nickname and a small fraction of SIA agents have started using it.

14. how does the image your character tries to project differ from the image they actually project?

i’m laughing bc in one sense not at all. adrian can be whoever they want to be and they abuse the shit outta this kind of power bc why wouldn’t they? like adrian has two main fcs bc it makes my life simpler and bc adrian is okay with that but adrian can choose to look like anyone. and sometimes they do. they have their main faces but some days they feel blonde or ginger or blue eyed or tattooed or tall or small. literally. only limited to the imagination. and adrian is creative.

but in a another sense, mmmm… i think adrian wants to pretend they’re pretty happy go lucky and go with the flow. they want the world to think nothing gets to them bc life is easier when the world thinks you don’t care. but adrian cares. and people who know them know they care. so that… kind of aloof attitude doesn’t really play out as successfully as they’d like, but they keep trying.

15. what is your character afraid of?

you can find this answered here! but bonus one: losing xander has made the list in our verses and for once it’s not a selfish thing? like losing xander would not stand to actually hurt adrian in any literal sense. just. emotionally. bc they love xander and now they’re worried bad things will happen to him thanks.

what is your character afraid of?

i see dana’s nothing and raise you adrian’s everything.

which, again, kidding. adrian isn’t afraid of y’know. spiders or heights or guns or. things most people are afraid of. but for a muse who works as a spy, they do have a few major fears. the biggest one has already somewhat happened: adrian fears losing their freedom.

what they have now is… better than nothing. imprisonment is the worst way this fear could manifest itself, so at least they’re not locked in a cage. but they are on a leash and they hate it. they want to make their own choices, own mistakes. do what they want, do who they want, be who they want. and not all of these are an option for them right now, but they’re still afraid things could get worse.

whether they’ll admit it or not, they also fear losing pj. and part of it is a genuine attachment to pj. but another part of it is purely selfish, because if pj dies, what happens to them? (and really, any of the other agents in her care). they don’t think it’s good, because pj seems to be the only one who wants to keep her agents around.

their old job– thief– didn’t involve a lot of teamwork. no one was relying on them but themself. so these days they’re slightly afraid that they’ll make a mistake on a team job and they’ll get someone else killed. and despite being a relatively selfish person, adrian’s not sure they can handle having blood on their hands. they’d rather not find out.

Adrian lives at the SIA base where PJ’s office is. Initially it was because Adrian couldn’t be trusted not to bolt if left alone for that long. At this point, if Adrian asked, PJ would help them find an apartment off base? But Adrian won’t ask because that would involve settling in one place which they haven’t done in years and aren’t sure they really want to do again.
