I was thinking about the spies and their moral compasses earlier and like. What would happen if they had to choose between saving a lot of lives and saving the person they care most about?
Valentin, without hesitation or regret, would choose Anita over the entire god damn world and he’d do it every time, even if she hated him for it because keeping her safe is what’s most important to him.
PJ, on the other hand, would make the ‘right’ choice. She would save the city/state/country/whatever, even if it meant losing Jackie and it would absolutely destroy her to do so. She wouldn’t be the same ever again after that. She would know she made the best choice but it would kill her to do so.
Adrian and Orion don’t have anyone to care about? Well, Orion does but has no memory of her. Orion would make whatever the “right” decision was. The one that saved the most lives.
But Adrian. Ho boy. Adrian would make the decision that personally benefited them the most. They’ll never deny being a selfish person; it’s just true. Even if it meant people died, Adrian would go for the best case scenario for them.
However, this does get a little grey when their coworkers are also in danger because Adrian has become rather reluctantly attached to them all. Their decision in that case would vary greatly by scenario, I think.
