Teyo is so put together. He’s a quick thinker in emergencies and good at planning for the long term, too.

But literally the minute Valentin is anywhere near him, they’re both teenagers again, and he’s ready to rip the coyote’s throat out with no thoughts to consequence. Valentin makes him feral. It’s a dangerous weak spot, but it seems to be one of the only ones he can’t shake.

Valentin is still pretty insecure about his English speaking skills, which makes him a lot more quiet. Talking to him in Spanish? He’s chatty and witty and enthusiastic! Speaking English? He listens more than he speaks and what he does say is usually much shorter than he might go for if it were Spanish. His English isn’t bad, by any means, but he’s never quite felt comfortable or confident in it and it’s very noticeable, especially if you’ve ever heard him in Spanish.

It’s led to a lot of people underestimating his intelligence over the years, which is often frustrating, but occasionally, it’s something he can play to his advantage and he absolutely will.

Valentin’s fc tag translates to, “a coyote among wolves,” because he’s quite literally a werecoyote who grew up among werewolves.

Teyo’s fc tag translates to the reverse, “a wolf among coyotes,” because in Mexico, coyote is a slang term for someone who smuggles people across the US/Mexico border and Teyo is a werewolf in that business.

One of the core flaws of the SIA is that so very few people are actually loyal to it instead of to the people within it.

So like let’s say some Mar.vel style Sh.ield/Hy.dra drama went down in the organization??

PJ is loyal to the organization but her top priority would be to make sure her agents were okay. Adrian would follow PJ without hesitation, at least long enough to make sure PJ would be alright (if they knew PJ would be fine and the opportunity for escape came? Adrian would be gone). Ivar would follow PJ. Valentin would be conflicted, but only because of his sister and in the end? He thinks the organization is sketchy as hell so he’d pick PJ. Orion is the only one who doesn’t have loyalties to either really? But he knows that PJ has more knowledge than she’s shared with him, so he’d stick with her.

Talon would take Wren and run. She’s picked up a lot of useful and dangerous powers over the years and the minute she heard the SIA was crumbling? She’d know whatever was next would come after her and her son, so she’d be on a plane/boat out of the country, honestly. She knows where most of the SIA connections are, so she’d pick a country that shouldn’t have many/any and build them a life there. Wren would hate it, but he’d go anyway, because she’s home now.

Orion and Ivar both live at the SIA base. Orion mostly because he has nowhere else to go. Ivar because he doesn’t want to go anywhere else.

Valentin has a room there, but travels more than most agents and tends to stay in hotels/camp out instead of sleeping there. When he’s not out on a mission, he generally goes to visit his sister, so his room is relatively untouched.

I was thinking about the spies and their moral compasses earlier and like. What would happen if they had to choose between saving a lot of lives and saving the person they care most about?

Valentin, without hesitation or regret, would choose Anita over the entire god damn world and he’d do it every time, even if she hated him for it because keeping her safe is what’s most important to him.

PJ, on the other hand, would make the ‘right’ choice. She would save the city/state/country/whatever, even if it meant losing Jackie and it would absolutely destroy her to do so. She wouldn’t be the same ever again after that. She would know she made the best choice but it would kill her to do so.

Adrian and Orion don’t have anyone to care about? Well, Orion does but has no memory of her. Orion would make whatever the “right” decision was. The one that saved the most lives.

But Adrian. Ho boy. Adrian would make the decision that personally benefited them the most. They’ll never deny being a selfish person; it’s just true. Even if it meant people died, Adrian would go for the best case scenario for them. However, this does get a little grey when their coworkers are also in danger because Adrian has become rather reluctantly attached to them all. Their decision in that case would vary greatly by scenario, I think.

Expanding slightly on this, PJ is probably Valentin’s favorite coworker because they’ll do that thing where he’ll talk to her in Spanish and she’ll answer in English and they both understand each other and it makes communicating much easier for the both of them.
