Had a lecture in Vision and Authorship about different types of book binding. We then learnt how to bind our own books by following instructions and working together to figure out the process. This was a bit difficult at first and very time consuming however the results were interesting and left me feeling very proud, motivated and inspired. I would definitely need a lot more practice if I were to do this for a final book outcome however it was a good first attempt. Unfortunately this piece is not something that will go towards my Final Major Project.

Got together with my group in order to work on completing the workshop ready to be presented on Friday in Vision and Authorship. We worked together by completing and finalising the presentation that will be shown, created one of the physical work sheets that participants will need and did multiple test prints before printing the final outcomes on paper that is more interesting and interactive. As well as this I attended a talk from a MA Graphic Design graduate which was a very inspiring insight. A productive day all in all which has left me feeling inspired and motivated.

Wanted to enjoy my day off but also be productive at the same time so I took a day trip and went to find resources and information that could be used for both Advanced Research and Vision and Authorship. Discovered an exhibition at The Science Museum showing how old cigarette packaging used to look as well as other substances such as snuff and needles for drug use. As well as this I captured some imagery to represent hallucination for my Final Major Project. Overall I was pleased with what I gained considering I was taking a day off.
Saturday 7th March 2020 The Science Museum: Drugs and Computer Lettering
As I am focusing on Addiction for my Final Major Project which stemmed from the idea of Phone Addiction, I was specifically interested in these two exhibitions that I discovered. It is interesting to see how drugs were once packaged, actually encouraging the use rather than discouraging it as we see in the present day.

Took part in a workshop designed by fellow students in Vision and Authorship based on fashion and the brain. During this workshop I had to match material names with whether they are natural or synthetic and also with where they come from based on samples with a clue. Discussed my own wardrobe choices such as how its organised and whether it reflects myself, and also learnt about parts of the brain and participated in short brain-related activities. As well as this we had a writing session in the afternoon. Overall I was busy during the day however was not able to contribute towards my own projects.

Unfortunately I didn’t get as much work done as I had originally planned. Began to create workshop presentation for group work in Vision and Authorship. As well as this I took some visual exploration photographs for my Final Major Project, edited these and also some previous photographs I had taken that still needed editing. Uploaded and updated all works onto course blog.
