okay so I heard about the scientology speedrun trend (don’t laugh at me for being behind the times we been knew) so I went to have a laugh at it except. Pretty quickly I realised a lot of it just seems to be people targeting this woman Shannon? Like. Don’t get me wrong. Scientology fucking sucks and deserves to be mocked and to have people try to get in its way and make it more difficult for them to recruit and everything. But I’ve just watched several videos where people (almost all men as well) just kind of…shouted at this woman and got uncomfortably close until she had to go inside and like. Again. I hate scientology but are we really gonna pretend like making this woman feel unsafe is the way to go about protesting it?
ngl I was especially upset seeing a video of what looked like a fairly young woman out front of the building being yelled at by the guy behind the camera, who literally pointed out to her that he probably shouldn’t blame her bc she was likely taken advantage of, but then continued to yell at her, including telling her that the security she was with wasn’t there to protect her but to keep her there. Who the fuck are you helping here, man?
