They aren't secretaries, they're administrative assistants.
This poor secretary does everything for this guy. She’s more like a punching bag for him.

Well, after some very loud and frightening back-and-forth (in which the partner emphasized that she works for him and the secretary emphasized that she was a person and not a machine), the secretary was sent home in tears. The partner bitched for the rest of the day about the Nerve™ of admin these days, but was otherwise his usual nightmarish self. Unclear if we will be seeing the secretary again tomorrow.
