Canadian. Lawyer. I once believed law school was a beautiful place, full of energetic learners and dreamers. People who wanted to change the world. Instead, I discovered that law school takes those people, squishes them into small balls, kicks them around for fun, and then demands a fee for "services rendered." I used to be a nice person. Honestly. And then I went to law school. This blog comes with a caveat - no one likes to bitch more than law students. - and I operate this space solely in my personal capacity and not in my capacity as anyone's lawyer. So in the "Me and Spouse met on the Internet" category, we have me seeing someone asking for AuDHD world building novels and not realizing it was my spouse until she replied and I went ""huh, thats weird that she stalks my reddit, I didn't know she knew it."

And then realizing that I was giving advice on what books she could buy for me as a gift by recommending books I have read many times before. Cue both of us insane laughing.

Eleventh Annual Lawblr Book Exchange

The last few years, I've been unable to open this up to the broader / newer lawblr community, but I'm excited to have the bandwidth again!

Refresher Course - You will be matched round-robin style with another lawblr (mostly - I reserve the right to match two people exclusively where necessary for geography purposes). You will send someone one of your favourite books, and someone will send you one of their favourite books. Some of us send more than one book, and sometimes those of us who know each other well throw in a few extra surprises to.

You will have the option of sharing an e-book or sending a physical book. Great resources for physical books are ThriftyBooks and BookOutlet

My lovely partner is in the process of getting a second-law license here in Canada (Ontario), and so I've been keeping an eye on r/ONBarExam to see if there's anything worthwhile to know.

Apparently the only thing worthwhile to know is that the children are even dumber than when I was in law school because I just had to read the sentence "As I understand, with the help of ChatGPT.." with my own eyes
