Cake Asks! Chocolate Fudge Cake: What song can always make you dance/feel good?Strawberry Shortcake: Name five of your favourite fictional characters.
thank you!
Chocolate Fudge Cake: What song can always make you dance/feel good?
I rarely dance, lol? Probably ManOWar’s Heart of Steel, though it’s more of an empowerment feel good, and not a dancy feel good.
Or Twisted Sister - We’re Not Gonna Take It! It always make we want to shout and sing along.
Strawberry Shortcake: Name five of your favourite fictional characters.
Solas, Rodney McKay, Buffy Summers, Bilbo Baggins, Raistlin Majere
I think of you as the Pre-Raphaelite style portrait artist who tends to focus on a quiet in-between moment for video game characters.
Oh wow, that’s so nice of you to say! Also a huge fecking compliment, wow. And yeah I like to see my fav characters happy not gonna lie (although I am capable of terrible angst T-T)

How would Halesta have reacted to the Chantry offering her the position of Divine?
Ahahaha OHHHHH GOD, uhhh, let's see....
Were Halie to be offered role of Divine, she'd be suspicious af. The only interest Halesta has in the Chantry and their beliefs is strictly scholarly, and putting a Dalish elf on the Sunburst Throne is basically the same as putting her head on a chopping block. Not to mention the absolute chaos it would cause, the protests and revolts? Tevinter would be probably able to just waltz in and take over the Andrastian Chantry. Or worse, there'd be another Exalted March. She wouldn't risk her own life like that, especially since it would likely endanger the lives of all elves.
Thank you so much for this question, sugarplum! This was fun 😍😘❤️
💘- 3 ways to win your heart?
Thank you!! ^_^
💘- 3 ways to win your heart?
Hmm. Interesting question. I guess I’m just trying to think back to my husband and how that all started, and also how it’s lasted. Tbh, I think my heart is fairly “winnable.” I’m not now nor have I ever been tough to woo. So I’ll try to think about this in terms of reasons my husband and I tend to just...work?
When I think about the key things that drew me to my husband, I think first about how intelligent he is, but how he’s quiet about it. Intelligence is important to me. My husband was a college basketball player and has always been, outwardly, a textbook “jock.” He’s aloof and mellow. It’s impossible to frazzle him. He did well in school without trying, and he made the Dean’s List as a college athlete who graduated in three years, even after taking a year off to go work with his jackass uncle on Wall Street. To me, he seems to know EVERYTHING. He’s so well-rounded it’s freaky, but you’d never know it just by talking to him casually. That kind of humble intelligence is SO hot to me. He’s like the quiet jock in the back of the classroom who never raises his hand, but he always knows the answer. He just doesn’t care, or feel the need to prove his intelligence in any way.
Another thing that drew him to me was this sense of mystery. Together, we are content to lead our separate lives. We don’t share every interest. We don’t share every experience. Some things we know are just made for us. This kind of ability to be “alone together” is key to the success of our marriage. Because we have a very rich “together” life, but we also have very rich lives separate from each other. It keeps us sustained and fulfilled, and it also means that we still have the capacity to learn new things about each other, even after being together for ten years.
Finally, my husband found his way into my heart because of simple...aesthetics. We are both writers, and so aesthetic is a constant topic of conversation for us, and we share an essential aesthetic which is SO important to our relationship, because it determines our basic lifestyle and the foundation for our daily conversations and decision-making. This “aesthetic” extends to everything from core values to art and philosophy. We’re just the same.
So...humble intelligence, confident independence, and a similar aesthetic? Those are the three ways to win my heart lol.
Sweet and Pure Asks
Do you ever come up with a really good line independent of any writing and then spend time making a scene just so you can use it?
Oh my GODS, yes, I do. ~laughs~ My favorite one to date is in Rumor Has It -
"Look, I know he's a dick, but he's my dick -" Varric broke off, face to face with a suddenly grinning rogue. "Shut up."
That line was in my head as soon as I knew Varric and Rumor were good friends as well as business associates. It took me four rewrites to make it work organically in the scene, but I still consider that two weeks of worthwhile effort. :)
Weirdly, most of the lines I come up with and then construct scenes around tend to be humorous. I rarely come up with anything profound or touching ahead of time - those lines make themselves known in the moment - but the humor is always about one step of ahead of me. Or, as in this case, several weeks ahead of me!
What about you? Do you have random lines circulating and demanding whole scenes to give them freedom?
🍰- strawberry or vanilla?
strawberry definitely! :)
