Sometimes people say that Ezra would bug the crap out of Thrawn in Wild Space, but maybe he wouldn’t.
We know that Ezra was a very sought after pupil.
Kanan noted how eager he was to learn, and the number one thing he ever said to Ezra to get him to connect with and understand the Force was to “listen”.
Ezra was never afraid to ask questions (even at the risk of sounding dumb), and you could say that he had a thirst for knowledge, even if it was dangerous. He had a seemingly boundless curiosity, especially in regards to people, which sprung from a desire to understand and to help.
So that’s why - if he and Thrawn could (to put it lightly) overcome their differences - I think they could actually get along.
Because Thrawn is a natural, constant teacher. He WANTS to divulge what he knows. He WANTS people to understand him and understand how and why he does what he does. He knows that he has a special talent, but he also believes that others can be taught to be like him.
Also, what we know about Thrawn is that he seeks to learn from his defeat. So if he could wrap his brain around the chaotic, unexpectedness that is Rebel Jedi Ezra Bridger, and if Ezra ever had cause to trust Thrawn, then the student-teacher relationship would flow both ways. We know that Ezra has the potential to be a good and patient teacher, both from Kanan’s example and from the way he taught Sabine.
But one of Ezra’s weaknesses is that he is far too trusting, and ultimately Thrawn is not a good guy. So IMO a very viable plot line could work in the way of enemies to friends (where Ezra and Thrawn learn all about each other) but back to enemies by the time Sabine and Ahsoka show up, where Ezra is the only person who is against Thrawn who could also beat him at his own game.
