They had met so long ago hadn’t they? Ages ago it felt like, so long that it seemed almost as though an eternity had past. It was a happy accident for her, something that she loathed as much as she loved. They met surrounded by dust and books, in a low lit room with little notice from anyone else. Magica had yet to go onto the other woman’s radar, had yet to be recognized to be a threat. Scrooge had no idea that she even really existed, had no idea that she wanted to go after his number one dime. Surrounded by books with old words and text from a time long gone, the witch let herself become a serpent. She let herself deceive just as she always has, she let herself trick someone who had nothing to do with it, let herself hurt someone whom she found herself--
She could recall, with a sort of vividness, the feelings she felt when she was around Della Duck. At first she just pretended, played the game and the roll she knew she could play well. The role of a close friend, but soon enough she felt herself tripping up. More and more she forgot about her task at hand and just fell into enjoying herself. She had found herself truly smiling, laughing, crying, screaming, all of it. All of those emotions were true because she made a mistake-- a mistake that was equally as good as it was bad. She let herself get attached like a fool. Let herself fall for her emotions, something that she learned now never to let herself do. It got extremely out of hand especially when things became too emotional.
‘I love you’
She said that didn’t she? She meant it too! After that initial month she meant every word she said, loved every feeling she felt, she had loved Della Duck more than her magic. She would never give up on the dime! Never! But she didn’t want to get it all the same because she didn’t want to loose her. She was torn over her life’s goal and her heart’s wishes. The ideal scenario would be to take over the world and ask Della to join her, as the pilot to leave the life she led behind so they could dominate everything, change everything to be their bidding-- hell she’d even spare the old duck and her family if that was her wish! So long as it meant having her there, but she couldn’t have both. She could never have both, if she brought it up to her, Magica was sure that the younger wouldn’t understand. And so she was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
She couldn’t decide which one! If she picked Della than she’d be throwing away everything in her life that she ever worked for, everything that she ever tried to accomplish. But if she picked world domination, than she would loose the one thing that made her happy in her life, the one thing that brought true joy to her heart. She did, eventually, make a decision-- but she waited too long to actually act upon it for the woman she had loved found out her plans. She found out what the original plan, which had been dashed and thrown away at this point, was. She had seen the truth, pulled away the veil and saw the crime she was holding. The crime that was no longer really hers anymore. Magica had picked Della, but the pilot would never know that.
They screamed at each other, shouted, fought, but it never turned violent. The conversation ended with Della storming out and that was the end of it. They stopped talking after that. Oh how she wished she could take it back, every moment she wished she could just take it all back. Take every little mistake, every sin back, she would do anything to fix things, to bring it back to the way it was. But at the same time there was a mission to be accomplished. She couldn’t just throw that away! Despite the fact that it hurt her, despite the fact that her heart was torn asunder and into tiny pieces, she would still go back and do the whole thing over and over again if it meant being able to experience that love again. She wanted to tell her that she gave up on the idea a long time ago, that it wasn’t how she felt anymore, but her pride wouldn’t allow it.
The emotion she felt when she locked a familiar gaze with the other was terror. She was terrified of the younger in so many ways, terrified of the emotions that could be afflicted upon her. But what hurt her the most was what she said in greeting. The greeting was once so kind, a gentle hello accompanied by a soft question of wellness. They would have such funny greetings, jokes past between girls who were more than happy to have just each other’s company and nobody else. They didn’t need anyone else. They were perfect together... That’s what Magica thought at least until she broke what she had by throwing it against a brick wall, watching it shatter like glass. Picking up one of the shards she threw it again every time she saw the other. Why? Because she was prideful...
“You again! What are you doing here?” She growled out, but in her eyes it showed just how pleading she was. Her face and her words said she was angry, she was enraged at how she was wronged. But her eyes, they told a totally different story. It told a story of how sad she was, how she missed her, and how she just wanted this to be fixed.

“Great. I’m finally able to fall asleep and I have one of these dreams. Okay, let’s get it over with; tell me that you’re sorry and you miss us or that I’m a horrible disappointment of a child and you made the right decision by abandoning us.”

“Old man!? HA!” Scrooge laughed. He quickly jumped back, raising his cane to parry Della’s blow. “Ah should hope Ah raised ye better than that!”
