i think that tony thinks they're a bunch of jackasses, honestly. he really likes volt, because volt is pretty nice to him, but he's got this weird beef with eddie "ooh eddie thinks he's so good and soooo cool and soooo successful because he's got his own bar and he does his own repairs and even though im a toolbox he basically doesnt let me help at all and-"

but he never says anything to eddie specficially. he just kind of silently badmouths him just like he does to... like... everyone. like he's talked shit and about how he's better than everyone in that house. after a certain point everyone just tunes him out and lets him talk to talk... cept for bathsheba, who finds him super hot and is like totally always interested in all of the super hot tea he has to spill...

i digress

i think when volt was created... tony was a real jerk about it. not in the way where he was like "oh this guy sucks too" but in the way where he was like

"eddie this guy is amazing! holy crap, why didn't you do this earlier?"

and volt is... kind of a new person, so he kind of eats it up, but he also knows that tony has no real intention of hurting eddie. he's just being himself, and eddie has to tell volt "no, yeah. its okay... tony is gonna be tony, and sometimes he's handy. he just... has a big mouth. honestly, i'm glad you're here to entertain him. he always gets on my nerves."

at the end of the day, the three can sit down and have a drink together, and when he's not going to bev's, that's usually where tony stops for a drink... after closing hours, but still. he gets kind of sappy, and volt is his favorite bartender. volt indulges him, and then eddie gently cleans a bar glass, sighs, and tells him the straight facts.

eddie is one of the only people who can be straight with tony without him getting really frustrated and storming out. its a real "yeah? i... i mean i don't trust a lot of people's judgement, eddie, but i trust yours. you're... god. you're better than me at my own job."

and eddie knows that tony respects him a lot, even if he won't show it during the day or in front of others. they care about him. he cares about them. and in the end? he gets really happy when he's invited to help with the repairs, even if its just to hold a ladder.
