“Ah...”
Emi blinks in surprise, pausing after setting a glass into the sink before turning around after feeling two arms squeeze around her stomach from behind.
Their face was hidden against her back, but there was no mistaking the strands of blond hair sticking out from their hat. Rhyme was shaking a little, but Emi only smiled before moving to face them. Their arms loosened enough to allow movement and Emi gently returned their hug. One hand resting on their back while the other gently rubbed against their shoulder blade, “It’s okay...There, there,” Emi whispered as she could hear a sniffle, “It’s okay Rhyme...I’m not angry. It’s okay...”
She had only been putting away a few things in the kitchen, not wanting to get in the way of the teenagers in the house. The woman had returned back into the living room to get her cell phone, hearing it chime repetitively to the point that she knew it was work. She promised herself to keep it left alone on the coffee table, but of course...Someone needed her at work to give input.
As soon as she entered, there was a gasp and sudden silence.
She had caught sight of something in the corner of her eye and when she turned around....
There was Rhyme, frozen as they stared at the obvious dark mark on the carpet that slowly began to spread. Beat was frozen as well, eyes darting from the floor to Rhyme and to her and back to Rhyme. Emi had never seen two teenagers get so...Tense, fearful just from something that was obviously an accident.
What did those two go through back home for them to have such a reaction?
A few seconds passed until Emi finally moved, taking her cell phone from the table and pocketing it. All eyes were on her as she walked over to Rhyme and gently took the the empty glass out of their hands. They looked at her, eyes wide and lip quivering a little before Emi gently shook her head and offered a smile.
“It’s okay...It was an accident,” she assured them before lightly patting them on the head, “It’s alright. It’s only a drink, besides I was thinking of redecorating the living room anyway. This carpet was so old! I had it when I was single!”
The room was suddenly moving again, light laughter before eventually conversation slowly eased back to its normal flow.
She took that as her cue to leave and now here was she in the kitchen and hugging Rhyme. Emi could hear them slowly calm down as she kept hugging them, “...Do you want to sit down with me? Until you feel a little better, we don’t have to talk. Just until you feel a better okay?”
❝ have you even taken the time to let yourself feel it? everything that’s been happening. eventually, you have to slow down and let it feel real. ❞
CONVERSATIONAL SENTENCE STARTERS

She stares at the wall in front of her, can in hand as she tugs at her mask a bit as she stares at the half finished piece. Emi had enacted from her previous promise and had taken a very lengthy vacation to really think over what she wanted for herself. Her work hadn't, for once, bothered her in the past three days and there had been an odd sensation of both confusion and relief.
Usually she would be bothered, but with preparation and knowledge that her team could handle everything....Emi had been left unbothered. It was such a strange sensation to just...Not be worried.
Instead she had picked up on her old ways in art, more sketches and now as promised with Hanekoma going to spot and tagging a rather rare empty wall. They had been working in half silence and a few exchanges with smiles, but his words hit her a lot as she stared.
It had been years since she a spray can and just...Went with a flow she hadn't felt in a while. The paint she had used forming a sun, the rays flaring out into shades of reds, golds and oranges....In a way she could feel the warmth, not overbearing heat like the real sun. Emi really had no real intention of creating a sun, but thinking about how happy she had been lately and how her days seem brighter without so much worries.
"....I guess I felt...Happier," she admits after standing in silence, "Like my days aren't heavier with something. There's a new way to look at my life now after meeting others just like me or who I let in instead of just being fleeting about it." Emi glances over at him, shrugging, "Does...That make sense? It's really the first thing that popped up without being shoved away from my other thoughts."
Hanekoma went out of his way to go to her workplace and pick her up, and as soon as she comes out he rushes her, lifting her over his head and spinning her around like she's a little kid.
"There's my birthday girl!" He lilted, bringing her back down into a tight hug. "You don't have anything ya gotta do today, right? Lemme help ya make a day of it, or at least the evening~ I thought I could take ya somewhere fancy and get ya something real nice. Whaddaya think? We can take ya home to change first if ya need to."

Emi sighed, pulling at her scarf just a bit tighter as she squinted her eyes to adjust to the sunlight after being stuck in her office for three hours. It was a short work day so-
Her thoughts were interrupted as a yelp escapes her lips when she got picked up off her feet into his hug.
"SANAE!"
Well...At least there wasn't a crowd of people, but a few onlookers had paused to watch as she clung to him as she was spun. Her hair in her face once she gets set to the ground, her hands hastily pushing the strands out as she pouts up at him.
"Jeez..I'm not turning ten," the woman managed to weakly smile before attempting to reach him...Only to swat him playfully. There was no way she could touch the top of his head. Emi chuckles before linking their arms, "Yup! Whole day is free now, no work and I wanna spend it with my brother. Your treat of course yeah?"
Emi winks at him before hugging him, "Let's have fun today alright? That's my birthday wish."
Emi isn’t very subtle in displaying her emotions when she’s angry.
She let’s it known she’s angry and upset, often not making eye contact if it’s someone or clenching and gritting her teeth. Profanity is often more likely to spill out before she either raises her voice or yells.
Emi is the type to spend hours at the start making sure any Sims she creates, whether it be based off real people or not, are at least realistic as possible. She spends so long on the creation that she will either just throw the house portion together and call it a day to try again tomorrow....
Only to forget.
It may take her a while to realize she even started playing and just stopped right at the beginning. If she ever continues it’s not very chaotic and the worst would probably be her Sims’ home having a lot of cats.

She’s concentrating hard...A bit too hard if she didn’t hear him coming up behind her and nearly jumped out of her seat as both his arms wrapped around her from behind.
“Are you trying to make me mess up?!”
Emi’s head turning as she leans against his chest to try and give him a glare...Keyword being try as she fights back in smiling at the hug. Her hand reaching over and lightly tapping him at the side of his head that she could reach before returning back to her sketchbook.
Luckily she managed to halt her pencil before it made any lines off the page and she continued to shade in her sketch.

🌟 Emi has fallen asleep against Hanekoma’s side, a lot. She’ll be working or just watching something with him beside her or right behind her...Before falling right asleep against him.
It becomes an awful habit, but it’s completely normal considering they both eventually do fall asleep while in close proximity. They’re just that comfortable with each other and feel safe enough to let their guards down in front of each other.
😤 = How would/does your muse handle unruly, difficult or dangerous behavior from their children?
Emi would take Neku with her away from the area if he threw a tantrum. She’s that type of parent who would carry him, yes even if he pulled her hair and yelled at her, and finding a spot away from others so he could let it all out or just ask him patiently if he was done.
Eventually if he did calm down Emi would ask him questions.
Why are you upset?
Did I do something?
Do you know why you can’t have that?
How are you feeling now?
Just asking him to share how he felt with her before eventually explaining to him about why such behaviors aren’t good or coming with some conclusion/solution for him to decide on what he wanted to do next and also what she preferred them to do.
