first of all, I adore your works and every time I see anything you upload makes me smile and my day bright.
secondly, im planning to began a writing blog like yours, focused on dark themes and yandere stuff, any suggestions or tips for it?
oh god... my tummy... my heart... cant take... the praise. *falls down dramatically and dies*
anon this is so sweet, i'm so glad i can make your days a little better with my silly porn and i'm so incredibly flattered that you think i'm at all professional enough to ask for advice 😭.
so i could write out a big long post about how i took a huge break for four years and then revived my blog into the small, growing disturbing porn empire it is today, but i don't feel like doing that and i don't have to because @yanderenightmare did it for me in this, this, and this post.
i'm going to be so 100% real with you, my blog was revived bc i liked maries writing and learned from it (along with other authors i love later on). she is an incredibly talented author who (in the most positive way possible) writes some of the nastiest shit ive ever read. i highly recommend you check her out if you don't follow her already.
but i'll leave some additional advice that she didn't put in her original posts for shits and giggles.
find dark fic authors you like and READ. you become a good writer by watching, learning and implementing. if you find an author who writes the most toe-curling, jaw dropping, mind boggling smut (or ig normal stories) read their work and try to figure out why you liked it so much. was it the flow? the imagery? the buildup? if you can identify what you enjoy reading then you can examine your writing and learn how to implement it. this is a bit silly, but becoming a good smut author comes down to your ability to critically read smut. your writing style is an amalgamation of your taste in writing, so read lots and read to learn (after you jerk off ig)
be friendly! reach out to other blogs! hell, reach out to ME if you want. make friends in your fandoms who write and will bounce around ideas with you! i cant emphasize enough how helpful this is! not only does it keep your motivation up knowing you have cheerleaders in your corner, but you also get takes on your ideas you might not have thought of originally. not to mention how helpful it is to have someone who can look over your work with an outside eye. be friendly with your audience too! be silly! be unserious! answer asks and comments and yap to your hearts content! i think the most rewarding part of my blog is getting to have fun with other perverts online. don't deprive yourself of that by keeping to yourself.
make your blog pretty! i spent an embarassing amount of time making my blog all nice and cute, but it paid off bc i actually did start getting a lot more traction once i did it! it's also kinda nice knowing that people can easily identify when a post is mine bc i format in a specific way. if someones scrolling through a tag and sees two or three of my posts they'll know theyre all from me and maybe be more likely to check out the rest of my work. i'm also very proud of my banner hehe. i made it myself.
this is maybe the biggest piece of advice i have if you're going to be a dark fic blog and i think it's what i appreciate most in all of my favorite dark fic authors. be unashamed. don't pussyfoot around things when you're writing smut. Describe weird noises, use weird kinks, go into detail about the emotions and the fluids and the cocks and pussies and nastiness of it all. i think if you're willing to be unhinged your audience will match that enthusiasm. people are going to think you're gross or strange no matter what kind of dark content you write, so tag your work and go balls of the wall. life is too short not to be horny.
best of luck with your blog anon! send me a dm when youve got everything set up! i'd love to read what you write!
