The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil:
"Good and Evil" here is a merism, it represents "everything". Just as you would say 'I searched high and low' to mean I searched everywhere, the polar opposites of good and evil combine in the sentence to mean "everything".
So...by munching hard on the tree that allows us to know everything, our minds expanded. We created problems and we searched for answers to questions. We now live in a cyclical state of asking/answering. Generating questions and finding solutions. "Science".
The Tree of Life:
Hardly mentioned, or paid attention to, this tree stood in the same garden of Eden. IMO The tree of life is what we could have had. Eternal Life. Blissful, no suffering (as we didn't know what suffering was until we subjected ourselves to it), and peaceful existence with the earth and everything/one on it.
Kabbalists have a special diagram of the Tree of Life. which explains the physical body of the universe and man's place within it. This, my friends, is the science behind religion.
∴ By eating the fruit of The Tree of Knowledge of Everything, we got our wish and missed out on the chance of eternal life. If we just accepted, were not stubborn and did as we were told, we wouldn't have pissed our Dad off and he wouldn't have punished us. Great one ancestors, we reeaally appreciate global suffering!
