🔥 — Something they’re passionate about

Advik is really into theater and cinema, so Advik will show up to Evelow's one or two films a year and the handful more plays. It's the only thing he'll travel across the city for, as many shows are produced in the golden district

(the golden district is a hub for the arts, and as you can see, it's pretty far from the general area people live in at the bottom of the city. But it's worth a day trip if there's a new show)

I will say that if Advik existed in our universe, he'd be staunchly anti-ai and he'd be passionate about that too.

🥀 — A memory that still hurts

he's accepted the years of rejection his parental figure rajan has given him (it's at least helped him handle criticism as an art student that's for sure), but when advik confessed his romantic love to his best friend Ian only for it to not be reciprocated, ouch

not that advik resents ian for not feeling the same way, more so advik wishes he never said anything. It's one of the few things he genuinely regrets. (he mostly tries to forget his mistakes, but this one's hard to forget !)

☕ — A small everyday detail about them

will make tea for himself (and whoever is is in vicinity and wants some) every night, no matter how stressful or busy the night is. Even if Advik doesn't get home until 2am. At that point you probably need tea to relax anyway

Being really stressed out or overstimulated. Sometimes he'll just look at his messy room after a busy day and that'll push him over the edge.

🔥 — Something they’re passionate about

fashion ! (you chose two of my artsy characters, so we get artsy responses for these lol) she loves seeing what's trending, reflecting what that means for the culture, creating her responses to trends (she likes to try to be a step ahead)

she's also into sex culture (primarily bdsm) but she often finds seeking out spaces to talk about that isn't as easy for her - sad !

🥀 — A memory that still hurts

It was one of the first indications that kat should have known her ex girlfriend aurora was no good for her. kat never really did care for aurora's friends, vivian and whitney, and it was clear they never liked her either.

One time when kat had lunch with them and stepped away to use the bathroom, she overheard the two henchmen talking trash about her. But it wasn't their words that bothered her, it was their comfort in saying them in front of aurora, aurora defending herself rather than kat.

to kat it really felt like she was just another of aurora's lovers that were gossiped about over lunch.

(to this day kat claims she was just being the better person by pretending she didn't hear anything, but she secretly wishes she could have poured their drinks on them)

she always tries to pick out her outfit the night before ! it's one of her favorite routines, makes her look forward to the next day !

🌧️ — What makes them cry

she can cry pretty easily, just soft launch some rejection and the tears will start welling up. (Only if she liked you in the first place. So I guess build a friendship first, then break her heart, it's that easy !)

Have I mentioned that Martin and Eckehart have personal assistants?

Lila works for Martin Hightower. She is an enthusiastic, type-A personality whose idea of a good time is completing very difficult crosswords and watching competitive sports. Eckehart dismissed almost all of his father's staff when he took over the CEO position, and Advik was the only candidate who didn't suck up to him, so he got the job by default. He is, luckily, very good at his job.

They are oil and water, and though they may never end up in the story, I kind of love writing about them.

“Hey, have you heard?” “Heard? Heard what?” "Last night Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Hightower were seen leaving the building together.” Lila winked. “Think they were going to Mr. Hightower’s place or what? Word is that he’s got a flat he likes to entertain in.” Advik gaped. “Lila!” he pleaded, a harsh whisper. “Keep your voice down.” She laughed and waved off his concern. “Oh, settle down. It’s just harmless gossip.” “Only you would term gossip about two of the most powerful people in New London as harmless,” Advik said. Lila stepped in front of him, blocking his path down the hall and nearly knocking him back on his ankles. She smiled mischievously, eyebrows raised. “What?” “So? What do you think?” she asked. “Love affair brewing?” Advik pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger, attempting to stave off a headache. He considered telling Lila to mess off, to mind her own business if she wanted to keep her job. If it were Mr. Belks she was talking about, he wouldn’t hesitate. “I just don’t think he’s that sort of person,” Advik said finally. “Who?” she asked. “Mr. Schmidt,” Advik said. Lila didn’t move, patient for an explanation. Advik sighed and side-stepped Lila to continue down the hall. “He’s hard to read. Reserved. Shy, I think? I don’t know. I just don’t think that Mr. Hightower is his type.” Advik entered the Media Relations office, hoping the door would close back in Lila’s face. She pushed her foot into the threshold at the last possible second. The door bounced back and Lila followed quickly behind. They weaved between lines of desks, skirting around the Media Relations personnel. “I think Mr. Hightower is everyone’s type with a little nudging.” Advik paused and glanced around the office. “Did Monika move?” he asked. Lila sighed, exasperated. “Look, I have a vested interest in knowing whether my boss is getting laid, okay? Mr. Hightower is 73% more likely to accept my reports as-is in the days after a good dicking—” “Lila!” “And he hasn’t asked me to revise anything in the last week. That’s seven whole consecutive days, Ad. Seven! It’s unheard of. And he’s been staring out of his window all… wistful like. It’d be disgusting if I wasn’t getting twice as much done.” “Maybe he hit his head.” “Ha-ha. Funny.”
