Super grateful to my husband @laws_jim and my ex-husband, who take care of my two autistic kiddos on the weekend so I can get as much painting done as possible. My weekdays are pretty crazy. I mean, all my days are pretty crazy 😂 but the routine on the weekdays is very much structured around Emma and Ezra. Emma is 23 and profoundly autistic. She functions at about an 18 month level. Sensory issues are her cryptonite, and we do a lot to keep her in the happy bubble. Ezra Bean is 7, and although he’s severely autistic (they’re both non-verbal), he has come so far in the last year because of the amazing women who work with him. (We love you ladies!) I make all sorts of stuff, a lot of it is just about me or my life, actually. I have had to go to the mat more than once with schools, for my autistic babies, for my trans son, for my daughter who has an endocrine disorder and was getting fat shamed in PE class. For my own mama, who has more autoimmune disorders than I can keep track of, who is a cancer survivor. For my friends. For myself. I have a Mama Bear tattoo on my hand because I can be really nice, and I can also really rip your face off if you mess with my people. I made these as bottlecap necklaces, buttons, keychains... because advocates are important. We need them, and we have to be them. ❤️#advocatelikeamother #womanartist #autismmom #transpride #protecttranskids #girlpowerquotes #mamabear https://www.instagram.com/p/B17IGSDpMrU/?igshid=17iwve8a3wl8e
