Lunar Reset; a spiritual renewal rite

My offering to the New Moon. This rite is mostly based on observations during 2024's new moon in Scorpio transit through to full in Taurus (tropical, Northern Hemisphere). This was a super crazy powerful time, and I think it usually is for anyone with really strong Taurus placements. Scorpio is a perfect nadir to contrast our native tenacity, but anyone can utilize this. Again, it was written with the intention to be paired with this specific lunar event, and so such an event is regarded often, however other phases or trail mile-markers could be substituted.

This rite is designed to take the course of two weeks. This is wholly recommended, and I'm not sure if this could be accomplished to the fullest in under a ten days. In a social sense, you'll be pretending to be dead. It will be necessary to confront your responsibilities and commitments prior to beginning the rite and inform them of your situation and let them know you'll be absent and unavailable during this time. I believe communication should also be reduced to minimum and I even changed my diet.

This process is dedicated to focus on you. You deserve to focus time and energy on yourself and your needs. If the world collapses around you when you ask to focus on your basic needs, that is a red-flag indicator that something else is probably not functioning properly and it's time to troubleshoot. You may not understand yet where this discomfort is coming from. Adjust this ritual to your personal social ecosystem. It's designed to out any stagnant energy.

This rite is 15 days, but each step correlates to the moon as it passes through the signs from Scorpio to Taurus. Each stage is two or three days long, however you are encouraged to stay at each step until you're ready to move on. Take it at your own pace. I'm also throwing this into the void with the assumption that if you're here, you already know the basics of witchcraft. I am very happy to answer questions and take comments, but unfortunately I am unable to hold your hand from all the way over here.

Mind My Business; The Spell

Is this a ward? You could use it to enchant an item ig? Its not really a return to sender, and it's not quite a banishment? I don't really categorize spells in that way, but here it is.

My intention here is to break my people-pleasing and codependent habits. I struggle to notice my feelings, but feel like a sponge to others'. I'm practicing to realize which feelings aren't my responsibility. Just because I am witness to other peoples' emotions, I do not need to hold them, and doing so actually undermines my friends' ability to be responsible for themselves. Some things just aren't my business, and I'm allowed to walk away from them.

I don't need to take this, its none of my business. Put that vibe down, leave it, turn around.

Lunar Reset 🌖♓ days 9-12

As we all already know, its crucial to follow a cleansing with a blessing. Banishing can sometimes create what is most akin to a power vacuum. If you are removing things, energy, habits, or friends from your life, you are bound to feel something is now missing. This stage is part one of forming and adhering to your new foundation.

The power of Pisces is fully realized in the dreamspace, or the mind's eye. Notable for their emotional strength and vivid imagination, we use Pisces' natural bewonderment to visualize what comes next.

This step is for reattuning to your intuition, your inner environment and self. You've shed parts of yourself in your life, now appreciate what you have left. Once you take out the trash, all you have left are gems. Discover if any parts of you have been screaming for attention under all that clutter. Listen to your body, and what it wants from you right now.

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be? Throw rationality out the window. What are your deepest desires? Let your mind run wild and watch where it goes when unsupervised. If you're looking for a spell, I recommend -

fluorite, sodalite, aquamarine, moonstone, blue kyanite, selenite, clear quartz, labradorite, rainbow obsidian

jasmine, mullein, bladderwrack, rosemary, passionflower, hibiscus

dew, spring or rain water

a mirror or crystal for scrying, if you need to look deeper

A way to move through this phase in your body instead of through your mind is to create art. Your body has a knack for communicating exactly what it is you need to hear, but not every body works primarily though language. Write a song. Paint how you're feeling and use images to make sense of it. Scry or read tarot to work through complex desires that might have some contradiction in them. Make art and let it be "bad." Make art just because you have hands or toes or a mouth and because you can. If this art is only for you, who is calling it bad? Is it you? What you create is not bad, it's amazing just because you created something at all.

Creating art in the real world is important, but it's only representative of what is happening in your spirit. Dream your dream life. Unearth what it is you've been missing and chasing. Discover what it is inside yourself that you are fighting for and fighting to become.

As you go soul-hunting, no doubt you might dredge old soil and till up stale emotions. Remember that the only way out is through. Any fear of your imagination is fear of your self. Agree to be an unbiased observer, and nothing in your mind can hurt you. You do not need to take action. You do not need to take these thoughts or emotions as facts or the true nature of reality. Be mindful that your desires may represent a hidden insecurity. You can identify these thoughts because they can be in contradiction with your values. Ground and center. Remember who you are. You may not be able to retrieve lost time, but in closing one door, another one opens. Your losses teach you about your values as well as your victories. You might have to try a window or two to rediscover who is at your core and underneath that hard outer shell.

Lunar Reset 🌗♒ days 7-9

Aquarius here in this cycle represents the nadir of our journey. For this day, I'm not writing a spell. I want to use Aquarius' driven and focused energy not to hone in on ourselves, but to look outwards at our life and our situation.

Like always, ground and center! If you want to do a spell, I would suggest redoing the new moon in Scorpio spell. Also being our first quarter, the energy is perfectly balanced between Scorpio and Taurus, so you can reconnect with those energies as well. Some other energies that I associate with Aquarius and transformation are below:

amethyst, labradorite, hematite, pyrite

valerian, lavender, lemon verbena, echinacea, lemongrass, calendula

blue, green, and purple

Remember day 1 when you de-cluttered your home, and took everything off the walls? Are you still staring at it? Good! Today we're wrestling with it! Marie Kondo that shit!

Focus on your intention and be fearless. Welcome this transformation. Decide here and now what you will bring with you into your new future.

No lie, this will be hard. Again, these things will often be symbolic or representative of larger things in your life and it's expected for emotions to come up. Sort through your things, and handle each item with care and intention. Thank it before saying goodbye. Notice what it taught you, and what you can learn about yourself from it. Recognize how your life will change without this belonging, and visualize working through it. These items, your things, are not the same as your identity. Your identity is within you, and your power rests within your body. Recall that power back.

This may take a few days. Don't rush it. Take your time and work through your feelings, noticing each one and thanking it. Breathe. Pause and meditate if you need to.

The next step is to take this practice to other parts of your life. This happened for me during a rocky time in some relationships. I had to really struggle with realizing that anyone who disregards my boundaries consistently or pushes me to loosen my values is not a friend to me. Recall your power back from your relationships, your hobbies, and your habits that do not serve you. You do not have to take these into your future. A month later, I'm still struggling to let go and that's okay (there's still 6 days left lol).

Put your home back together with intention. Deploy other spellwork like wards or blessing as you rebuild and redecorate. Don't fall prey to the belief that you need to spend money to fill the holes in your gallery wall or your altar. Let the holes be there. Let them teach you something. Cleanse, and transform.
