Hello! For the emoji ask game about your writing: ☕- your favorite passage, 👻- 2-3 sentences from something not posted yet, 👶- Advice for New Writers
Yaaas let’s go~
For ☕- your favorite passage:
Hmm...this one’s pretty tough, not because I have a lot of “favorites” per se, but just because I have a lot of writing to sift through xD. There was one passage that sort of popped in my head though - this one’s from an old AU of mine called “A Date with my Best Friend’s Sister(s)”, an experimental fic where I tested out Amaya interacting with the Destiny Squad, and a romance with Riku in particular.
To give this passage a bit of context, Riku’s characterized as a guy who’s a bit afraid of commitment and sharing his true feelings, and just feels like a fish out of water when it comes to romance and romantic gestures in general. This particular moment takes place in the epilogue, set a year later than the main story, and on the anniversary of the main pairing’s relationship. I just really like this passage since I feel it shows Riku’s character development throughout the course of the story~
Once the coast is clear, I move the pile of clothes off my bed, making sure the present I've gotten for her that I hid underneath it isn't damaged.
I haven't bought her flowers since that last time, about a year ago – that night that she was babysitting Haru. I'll admit, my intentions behind getting them for her back then weren't entirely innocent. Not to mention the fact that I didn't even end up getting her the right ones, though she still was gracious about receiving them anyway. But, this time, I think these'll make her really happy.
I remember for a fact these are her favorites, after all.
It's a pretty simple gift, but, she told me to keep it that way. That, and, I honestly couldn't think of anything else to get her.
I'm bad at this stuff, alright?
Upon inspection, it looks like everything in the bouquet is still intact. Though, there is this weird card sticking out on the side of it…
'Behind The Flower,' it says. Oh, right, that flower language thing. I remember trying to scour for something that looked thoughtful enough the last time I went to that shop using these cards they had posted with all their flowers, though I don't think I looked at all when I went in earlier today.
'A symbol of femininity, softness, and temperance. Often bestowed upon one's first love.'
…Yeah, that sounds about right.

This is technically 4 sentences but:
“Shh…”
But in that moment, none of it mattered.
He was safe. Finally safe.

👶- Advice for New Writers
Never be afraid to ask for help! Even if you’re confident in what you’ve written, I think it’s always a good idea to get another perspective, which is something that I learned early on when I first started writing fanfic. My work used to be really heavy with exposition which would really stagnate some of the pacing, and it wasn’t something I realized until a couple of my (now really good!) friends pointed out to me, and it’s something I’ve really tried to work at over the past few years to improve! Someone who can be honest with you and build your confidence while still giving you things to work and improve on to make your work the best it can be is invaluable - whether it’s a friend, family member, or a random beta reader you find online, I highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for the asks! <3
