ENCANTO IDEA

Mirabel’s future was that she was meant to be a villain.

She wasn’t given a gift, and Bruno warned Abuela that if she was ever given a gift, she would destroy everything. Abuela didn’t want to believe it, so she drove out Bruno and told everyone that he was insane.

Bruno stayed in the walls, keeping the house from crumbling, and then Mirabel had her prophetic dream that everything would fall.

She sought out the prophecy and everything began to crumble.

She was doing her best, but Abuela kept pushing her, everyone was going against her, and eventually her fight and accusations against Abuela destroyed everything. Bruno tried to stop it, but his prophecy was self-fulfilling. Encanto was wrecked, and Mirabel retreated to the woods, where she hid for years after, essentially becoming the Madrigal’s next Bruno.

but tbh the movie coulda gone this way really easily and i can totally imagine this all playing out, just up Abuela's pain and have her project it to mirabel who in turn doesn't use her coping skills (sewing, singing) and after casita crumbles and mira loses her one positive relationship apart from her mom (imagining angst with dad because he tries to relate but he'll never 'get her' and whatnot) so duh of course she'll hide in the woods and- and- oh god why

Okay, okay, I would love to have seen Bruno voiced by Lin BUT, John Leguizamo, man! Amazing voice actor who I think did an impeccable job. Would Lin have done just as perfect a job? 100%

That being said, aaaaaa just imagine Bruno voiced by LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA!

(Anyways, here's a Lin imitator who actually does a decent job. He did Bruno's part in "All of You" in his 'Lin voice')
